Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer
On our ultimate care II, you care hear water barely running into the washer with the washer turned off
This problem is usually caused by one of the two following possibilities:
1. Water Inlet Valve. The valve is located where the fill hoses attach to the back of the washer. Over time these valves can clog with sediment and restrict water flow, or not close all the way and cause leak by.
2. Pressure Switch. The pressure switch is located behind the load level selector knob on the control panel. These switches can malfunction and cause similiar symptoms.
To replace the pressure switch you simply need to unplug the washer and remove the back of the control panel to access. There's an electrical connection and an air hose you need to remove.
Replacing the water inlet valve requires a little more effort. The following link explains:
A simple way to determine which component is causing the problem is to unplug the washer. If the problem stops, it's probably the pressure switch. If the problem continues, the water inlet valve needs replaced.
