The E-1 code is: Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} E1 Keypad keytail not connected.
So that means you need to get in the dryer where yo can assess the back of the key pad and check the connector.

So i found some more info for your machine and it says the 'thrmistor' is bad. The thermistor is located by your main operating thermostat inside the dryer housing. Write back if yo need more info

Whirlpool Duet dryer runs for 1 min. and then shuts off with e1 error, I did some research and found out their is a thermal fuse located behind the lower panel. Also something about a the heater could be...

E1 error code is a problem with the thermister sensor is is located behind the lower front panel..you do NOT have a thermal fuse concern because the unit will not run at all if its blown.MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG UNIT BEFORE REMOVING THE FRONT PANEL.. ps the thermistor is mounted on the blower housing and is kind of oval shaped ,the thermal fuse is about and inch long skinney and has 2 blue wires going to it hope thus helps Good luck

Dryer starts runs for 4min flashes e1 turns off

The E-1 error code is a thermistor error, some problem with the variable resistance.....this can be caused by over use of fabric softener sheets, which can cause lint to become tacky and coat the thermistor, or it just simply failed. Try replacing the thermistor.

Whirlpool Electric dryer E1

An E1 Code is a thermistor fault TEST #3a Thermistor Test
The machine control electronics monitors the
exhaust temperature using the thermistor, and
cycles the heater relay on and off to maintain
the desired temperature.
Begin with an empty dryer and a clean lint
screen.
1. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
2. Set the following configuration:
➔ Door – must be firmly closed
➔ Press Control On
➔ Press End Of Cycle Signal (Louder)
➔ Press Start
3. If after 60 seconds, E1 or E2 flashes in the
display and the dryer shuts off, the thermistor
or wire harness is either shorted or open.
➔ Unplug dryer or disconnect power
➔ Check wire connections at the machine
control electronics and thermistor.
To access the Thermistor you will need to open the bottom front panel 2 screws the thermistor is on the exh duct (Center) check it there let me know if you need futher help
