Inspect the video cassette copartment. The pinch roller retainer falls out of these and can jamin the mech .This part can be reinstalled with a little drop of nail pollish to hold it on.

I have four bose 901 speakers and one equalizer. I also have a peavy deca 424 amplifier. I have a tape deck with the tape monitor capabilitity. Can these work together and how do I hook theme up?

The presence of 1/4" TRS balanced phone jacks instead of RCA inputs is a problem; and the 1/4" TRS speaker output jacks, too. You'll need to acquire cables with compatible ends.

The amp can handle 4-ohm loads so running two 901's parallel on each channel would theoretically work, but I'd put them in series just to keep from presenting too low a load when you get cranking. At 230 wpc you've got the juice. From Series 4 on the 901's are very efficient.

The Tape Deck will attach conventionally to the Tape Loop on the Active Equalizer.

Once you get the physical wiring compatibility issues worked out:

Patch the Active EQ directly between any source you may be using (Amp In from the Pre-Out of the source, Amp Out to the Peavey input).

You can record the external source onto the attached Tape Deck and you can monitor it by pressing the Tape switch on the 901 EQ.

Start out at low volume and see how it works before turning it loose.

My sony dcr-hc28 developed a problem where the tape will not reinsert and i get a message "re-attach power source". i re-attach, nothing changes. i remove battery, power source, re-attach, nothing...

apply a DC voltage of 5v to the tape motor at the bottom of the camcorder. you'll find two little semi-hemispheres on top of motor. trial and error to figure out which is positive.

Can't open the dv tape

Solutions * The most frequent cause of this type situation is not having a power source attached, or a depleted battery pack. * Once the power source is available, some models require manually unlatching and opening a cover. * When the cover is fully open, the cassette will eject automatically after a few seconds. * If the tape still will not eject, seek assistance from a Service Facility because you need a special tool to remove the tape without causing further damage.

"Re-attach the power source" but tape is stuck, door open

I had the same problem. First, depress the reset button, located on the camera body (where the LCD screen closes over it). It is hard to see at first. It is important that the camera be set to the OFF position. When the camera is whirring after the reset, then hit the EJECT button so the tape comes out. Take the tape out and insert it back. That's it. My camcorder worked fine and let me record or plaback once I followed those steps.
