Hi, First of all you will need an ethernet cable, when you have got one connect it to one of the ethernet ports at the back of the modem (not the internet port that is on its own) and the other end to the LAN port on your computer and make sure the modem is switched on. If you look in the system tray (bottom right hand side) you will see the system detecting the modem, it will say connected but local only. Now open a web browser and in the address bar (the bar that starts with http) delete the address by just clicking at the end and hit the back space. Now you can follow your instruction manual to access Zoom manager, your input in the address bar will start like this 192.168........
U can login ur ISP u can find. go to browser type your IP address for ex. http://220.127.116.11 and press enter. it ask user and password. u can login ur user id and password of your internet provider. u can find there. default user id and password is admin and admin
Appreciate to rate as "Fixya"
is it wireless connection or ethernet? Zoom routers have a firewall and when you have something connected that the firewall doesnt like (Xbox 360 or Gaming) it will drop the connection. goto zoom.com/x6 and it will give you instruction on how to by-pass the firewall using an different IP address.
Yes the router assigns an internal IP address. connect it up then using your PC go into the configuration of your router (http://10.0.0.2) and look under system status, scroll to the bottom and under DCHP status you will see a list of all clients connected. Your Xbox will be listed along with its internal IP address.
You must assign a static IP address on the Xbox 360 that it is outside of the Zoom X6 router's DHCP pool. Also, the Xbox 360 must be in a DMZ. This will prevent the firewall of the router from blocking connections to the Xbox 360.
Assign a Static IP address on the Xbox 360 console:
Power on your Xbox 360 and go to the System area.
Select Network Settings and then Edit Settings.
Select IP Settings. The Edit IP Settings screen opens.
Select Manual and then enter the following settings:
IP Address: 10.0.0.150 (or any 10.0.0.x IP address, where x is between 100 and 250)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Select Done, to go back to the Edit Settings screen.
Select DNS Settings. The Edit DNS Settings screen opens.
Select Manual and then enter the following setting:
Primary DNS Server: 10.0.0.2
It is not necessary to enter a Secondary DNS Server.
Power down your Xbox 360.
Access the Zoom Configuration Manager:
From a computer that is connected to the Zoom X6, open a web browser and type http://10.0.0.2 in the address line and then press Enter (or Return).
Enter the User Name and Password (in lowercvase letters):
User Name: admin
Pasword: zoomadsl (where "l" is a lowercase letter L)
Create a Virtual Server rule to put the Xbox 360 on a DMZ:
In the Zoom Configuration Manager, click on the Advanced Setup icon at the top page.
Click on the Virtual Server/DMZ button.
On the Virtual Server/DMZ page, enter the following settings:
Internal IP Address: 10.0.0.150 (or whichever Static IP address you selected per Step 1)
Start Port: 0
End Port: 0
Click Save Changes
Click the Enable box, if you have this option.
Click Write Settings to Flash
Plug the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter in to the Xbox 360 console. If you are not sure how to do this, please refer to the manual that came with the Adapter.
Select the Zoom wireless network on the Xbox 360. (Note: The following steps assume you have a working wireless network with WEP or WPA security enabled and you know the Key and SSID of the network. If you have not done this, please refer to theFAQ on setting up a wireless network with the Zoom X6.)
Power on your Xbox 360 and go the System area.
Select Network Settings and then Wireless Network.
Enter the SSID of your network
Enter the Security Key for your wireless encryption. This must be either WPA or WEP. If you use WEP, you must enter the HEX digits for the Key you are using.
Power the Xbox 360 off, wait a few seconds, and then power the Xbox 360 back on.
Go to the System area.
Select Network Settings.
Select Test Xbox Live Connection. If everything is configured correctly, all the tests will show Pass.
Congratulations! You can now enjoy your Xbox 360 with Xbox Live.
If the Internet light is off it means you are not either authenticated at your provider or your configurations are wrong on the modem. If you go to your command prompt and type ipconfig and check your IP address and your default gateway. The IP address on your default gateway would be your router put that IP address on your browser and should be able to see your modem setting and any error messages that could help resolve your issue
