Ok when i go to connect my dlink router to my ipod touch i type in my password and it says unable to join the network why? I also recently changed the password because it wasn't long enough and still doesn't work. Also my Wii and laptop accept it but not my ipod touch perfectly. Please help I was really looking forword to playing on it.
Go into General settings, then under Wi-Fi settings make sure it's turned on first, then if you can see the name of your next work, to the right of that you should see a blue small arrow pointing to the right. Click that, at the bottom of that screen your HTTP Proxy should be set to off. If you can see the first 4 boxes have your IP address, subnet, router, and DNS information in there, click Renew Lease and try to connect again. Make sure your password is entered correctly, meaning if you have upper and lowercase letters in your password enter them the same on your ipod. You may need to authurize your Ipod on your router before it will allow it to connect, not sure what type of router you have. Hope this helps Cali

Re: Ipod touch will not accept my network
I've had a similar problem before - is your network encrypted using WEP or WPA? If it's WEP, I know for a fact that the iPod will have trouble with it. Try changing encryption types to WPA and see if that helps.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Connects over the last Wi-Fi network you used that's available.
If no Wi-Fi networks you've used are available, iPod touch will scan for Wi-Fi networks and show a list of Wi-Fi networks in range. Tap a network and, if necessary, enter the password to join. Networks that require a password show a lock icon () next to them.
Option to manually enter your Wi-Fi network name/SSID (if the Wi-Fi network is configured not to broadcast or be displayed to the public). If necessary, enter the password to join.
When iPod touch is connected to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon () in the status bar at the top of the screen shows connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.
Turn Wi-Fi on or off. Choose Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on or off.
Set iPod touch to ask if you want to join a new Wi-Fi network. When you are trying to access the Internet, by using Safari or YouTube for example, and you are not in range of a Wi-Fi network you have previously used, this option tells iPod touch to look for another network. iPod touch will display a list of all available Wi-Fi networks that you can choose from. Networks that require a password appear with a lock icon ().
If "Ask to Join Networks" is turned off, you must manually join a network to connect to the Internet when a previously used network is unavailable.
Choose Wi-Fi and turn "Ask to Join Networks" on or off. If you turn "Ask to Join Networks" off, you must join new networks manually.
Join a Wi-Fi network manually. Choose Wi-Fi, wait a moment as iPod touch detects networks in range, then choose a network. If necessary, enter a password and tap Join. Networks that require a password appear with a lock icon.
Make iPod touch forget a network, so that the device doesn't join it automatically. Choose Wi-Fi and tap the arrow () next to a network you've joined before. Then tap "Forget this Network."
Connect to a closed Wi-Fi network (an available Wi-Fi network that isn't shown in the list of scanned networks). Choose Wi-Fi, then tap Other and enter the network name. If the network requires a password, choose Security, tap the type of security the network uses, and enter the password. You must already know the network name, password, and security type to connect to a closed network. Some Wi-Fi networks may require you to enter or adjust additional settings, such as a client ID or static IP address. Ask the network administrator which settings to use.
Adjust settings to connect to a Wi-Fi network Choose Wi-Fi, then tap the arrow () next to a network.
1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then (turn WiFi on)
2. Set iPod touch to ask if you want to join a new network:Choose (WiFi) and turn (Ask to Join Networks) ON or OFF.
Then you'll need to join a WiFi network (your D-Link for instance)
1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then wait until your D-Link shows up in the list of networks.
2. Select your network and if you have a password for your router make sure you type it. (networks that require a password have a lock icon next to it) then tap (join)
Once you join a WiFi network manually, iPod touch will automatically connect to it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, iPod touch joins the one last used.
When iPod touch is connected to a WiFi network, the WiFi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen shows the connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.
You must be sure to what router you are trying to connect. I understand you have a ZyXel and a linksys. You must have 2 wireless networks. Your wireless network must be secured, so you just have to use the correct password. I need more details. Try this http://technicalsupport.blog.friendster.com
did you setup a wireless network ? if you didnt go to control panal and then wireless network setup icon and follow instructions (select automatically provide network key option) then follow instructions and finish. once you did that, search through wifi on youf phone it should find your WNetwork and then connect and enjoy. if you want to use internet and have an ADSL modem, make sure that the modem is connected to the internet RJ45 plug on your router. and from router to PC.
try setting it up on your iPod Manuelinstead of selecting the router from your iPods list hit the other box the enter your routers name encryption type and your password and see if that works hope this helps
i had the same problem too with my'n. My issue was on of my setting's was set to block that wi-fi connection. Try switching your setting for finding internet connection from automatic to manual. that should do the trick!
