Question about Epson Stylus CX3200 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

The cartridge carrier on my Epson CX4600 will not move to the opening where I can remove cartridges. All lights, including "E", are flashing, and the ink and error buttons are lit. Nothing works. Because I had just replaced cartridges, the expert who responded to my "flashing lights" question yesterday suggested that it might be a problem with a cartridge, but didn't answer my question about how to get to the cartridges. When I turn on the printer the carrier tootles back and forth a couple of times, but it does not stop at the opening nor does it respond when I press the ink button. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much! I still have to figure out why all the lights are flashing but, until now, I couldn't even get started.

Turn on printer, and unplug power when carriage moving. Then carriage can moved freely by hand.

Flashing alternately? Check status from Epson status monitor. End life service? Ink not recognized? Ink out? Do ink replacement procedure from Epson status monitor. Follow "how to...". When asked to replace ink, just unplug and plug again ink. Or may be your printer need to reset waste ink counter.

Hi, Not that sure with your particular model, but pls how are you engaging the change ink cartridge mode, button on the printer or via the printer utility? If you are using the printer button, you may be double switching or the switch is bouncing. You may want to try using the Printer Utility function. Click on Start, Printer and Faxes, right click on your Epson CX4600, click on Properties, Printing Preferences, Maintenance, Ink Cartridge Replacement icon, Next, Next > follow on screen instructions. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

I cannot stop the ink cartridge holder to stop in the correct positioo to replace the cartridges on my epsom cx5500 printer

Hello jgw_cansdale,
Welcome to Fixya.com!
If the Ink light (fon3_66.gif) is flashing that means one or more of your ink cartridge is low on ink, and if it's steady it means one or more is out of ink. For Epson printers, there are lots of ways to identify whether your printer is out or low on ink. For today let's just stick with the printer itself.\
Remember: A flashing fon3_66.gif means LOW ON INK, and a steady fon3_66.gifmeans OUT OF INK.
1. Open the scanner bed by lifting it up just like opening a brief case. By doing this you should now be able to see the carrier area this is the area were the ink carrier or ink holder moves left and right,
2. Press the Ink button. Now remember flashing means LOW and steady means OUT of ink.
If the Ink light is flashing, and you pressed the Ink button the carrier or ink hold will move under a small arrow just right above the carrier to point to you which ink cartridge is low on ink. pressing it again will point to another if you have multiple cartridges that are running low, if not it moves directly to the ink cartridge replacement area were you can pop the carrier's lid open to access the inks.
If the Ink light is steady, and you pressed the Ink button the carrier or ink hold will move under a small arrow just right above the carrier to point to you which ink cartridge is out of ink. pressing it again will point to another if you have multiple cartridges that are out of ink, if not it moves directly to the ink cartridge replacement area were you can pop the carrier's lid open to access the inks.

I need step by step instructions showing how to change an ink cartridge on and Epson NX110 printer

If the printer is out of ink in one or more cartridges (the ink light is steady), then with the printer on, lift the scanner unit and use the support to prop it up. Press the Stop button and the (first) empty cartridge will line up with the No Ink symbol on the printer. Press Stop again and the next empty cartridge will be moved to this symbol. Continue to press Stop until the cartridge carrier moves to the ink replacement position (depends on how many cartridges are empty). This is on the right side of the printer. Wait for the cartridge carrier to stop moving. Do not touch the white cable while changing the ink.

Next remove the first ink cartridge by pressing the two tabs towards the center of cartridge and pulling it straight up. (One tab is close to you and the other is closest to the printer.) Take your new cartridge for the slot and shake it four or five times. Then remove the cartridge from the package. Do not touch the green chip. Remove the yellow tape from the bottom of the cartridge. Next rotate the cartridge so that the nozzle is down and facing towards the inside of the printer. Then push it straight down into the slot until it snaps into place. Repeat these steps for the rest of the empty cartridges.

Once all of the empty cartridges have been replaced, lift the scanner unit and push the support to fold it. Close the scanner unit. Press Stop to start charging the ink system. Wait until the Power light stops flashing and remains on before turning off the printer or sending a print job to the unit.

If the Ink light continues to flash, open the scanner unit and press Stop. Press down on the cartridges to make sure that they are completely seated in the cartridge carrier.

If the ink out light is flashing or not lit, you need to use the Epson Utility to change the ink. This is part of the full software from Epson. For Windows right click on the printer icon in the taskbar (bottom right of the screen). Then select Printer Settings and click on the Maintenance tab. For a Mac, open the Applications folder and open Epson Printer Utility 3. Select your printer (if you have several Epson printers listed). Then click OK. (You will need to launch the utility before you open the scanner unit.)

The documentation for the Epson NX110 is available here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1663277658.1305218830@@@@&BV_EngineID=cceeadfdielfldicfngcfkmdhjidfmh.0&cookies=no&infoType=Doc&oid=128284&prodoid=63084353 .

I hope this helps.

How to I change ink on epson printer NX127 I cannot get the cartage out Can you show me the picture of the cartage ink holder with the lid up

First make sure the printer is on, then open the printer cover and the cartridge cover. Then press the Stop button. Assuming the printer has identified a cartridge with low ink, that cartridge will be moved to the replacement position; then the power light will flash. Squeeze the tabs on the ends of the cartridge together and lift it up. Unpack the new cartridge and remove the tape carefully. Then press the new cartridge into place until it clicks.

If more than one cartridge has low ink, the leftmost one will be in the replacement position when the cartridge carrier stops moving. Press Stop again to advance the carrier to put the next low cartridge into the replacement position. Then press Stop again to have the printer move the cartridges to the home position and charge the print head. When the lights go out or stop flashing, close the cartridge cover and the printer cover.

If the cartridges aren't low on ink, then use the Epson printer utility (under the Maintenance tab) to start the process.

For pictures of the Epson printer during ink replacement see: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1558177770.1297529968@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdcademkhmjkgicfngcfkmdhjidfmh.0&cookies=no&infoType=FAQ&oid=150187&prodoid=63088089&foid=157388 . Alternataively, see http://files.support.epson.com/htmldocs/nx125_/nx125_00ug/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=Epson&file=Ink.7.1.html .

I hope this helps.

How do you load new printer cartriges

To replace an ink cartridge using the fonth.gif ink button, follow the steps below.
1. Make sure that the printer is on. The fontp.gif power light should be on, but not flashing.
2. Lower the output tray, then open the printer cover.
3. Press the fonth.gif ink button. The print head moves to the ink cartridge replacement position, the fontp.gif power light begins to flash, and the fonth.gif ink out light corresponding to the ink cartridge that needs to be replaced begins to flash or remains on.
4. Open the cartridge cover. Pinch the sides of the ink cartridge that you want to replace. Lift the cartridge out of the printer and dispose of it properly. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it.
5.Remove the new ink cartridge from its protective bag. Place the ink cartridge vertically into the cartridge holder. Then, push the ink cartridge down until it clicks into place. Do not apply excessive force to the cartridge.
6. When you are finished replacing the cartridge, close the cartridge cover and the printer cover.
7. Press the fonth.gif ink button. The printer moves the print head and begins charging the ink delivery system. The fonth.gif ink lights start flashing. This process takes about one minute to complete. When the ink charging process is finished, the printer returns the print head to its home position. The fontp.gif power light will stop flashing and remain on, and the fonth.gif ink out light will turn off. The fontp.gif power light will continue to flash while the printer is charging ink. Never turn off the printer while this light is flashing.

There is no standard ways to replace the cartridge of this printer so better follow these instructions to remove the cartridge and replace it. You will need to unplug the power cable of the printer as quickly as possible after the cartridge leaves its home base position when it moves to initialize after being turn on.

  1. Turn On the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cable from the printer when the cartridge carrier left the home base position to move to the other end. (Look and see inside the cartridge carrier, when after turning on, it will initialize, the cartridge carrier will move from one end to the other end. Just as about to move in the center unplug quickly the power cord)
  3. You can now freely remove the cartridge and replace it.
  4. After replacing, push the carrier to its home and reinstate the power cable.
  5. Turn on the printer and allow to initialize

All lights flashing after changing ink cartridges

I had this problem when I 1st changed my Black INK, this is how I solved it:-

Yes I did remove & check the cartridge, the film was off BUT I hadnt clicked it in all the way so it was saying I had no INK, Slightly release it & click tightly back in (hear a click).

Clean/Allign the printer nozzle with the printer tools and print a test page, should work fine.
if it does not, I think either a dud artridge (you get 1 offs) or wrong cartridge number maybe?

I hope i have helped you sole your problem :-)

Changing the ink cartridge in Epson Stylus CX4200

1. Make sure the unit is turned on, and not printing. The POWER light should be on, but not flashing.

2. Lower the OUTPUT tray, and lift the scanner portion to access the ink cartridges.

3. Press and release the INK button. The print heads will move to the left, and the cartridge that needs to be replaced will stop directly beneath the OUT OF INK symbol. Make a note of which cartridge requires replacement.

4. Press and release the INK button again. If more than one ink cartridge is empty, the next cartridge will move under the OUT OF INK symbol. If no other cartridges are out of ink, the print heads will now move to the REPLACEMENT POSITION.

5. Open the CARTRIDGE COVER. Pinch the front and back tabs of the empty cartridge as you lift it out of the unit. Dispose of this cartridge.

6. Before you remove the new cartridge from its package, shake it four or five times.

7. Remove the new cartridge from its package, and lower it into the cartridge holder. Push down gently until the cartridge clicks into place.

8. Repeat steps 5-7 for each cartridge that you need to replace. Close the CARTRIDGE COVER once all of the necessary ink cartridges are replaced.

9. Carefully lower the scanner, until it clicks into place

10. Press and release the INK button.

The ON light flashes and the printer makes noise. Charging takes about 30 seconds. When it's finished, the ON light stops flashing and stays on steady.
Caution: Never turn off the EPSON Stylus printer while the ON light is flashing, unless the Stylus printer hasn't moved or made noise for more than 5 minutes.
