Question about Memorex MVD2050-BLK DVD Player
If the dvd player states it can play songs from in iPod, make sure it can play files that are not in mp3 format. iTunes doesn't use .mp3 as its default format for music. Please check the manual of your dvd player to insure the unit can play music files from an mp3 player. Keep in mind that just because the unit can play mp3 files, doesn't mean it can play those files while they're stored on an mp3 player. If your manual says you can play mp3 files on that player, it's talking about mp3 music that you burn to a disk using your computer. All dvd players can't play mp3 files so the ones that can advertise the fact that they can. But the player probably can't play the files from an iPod. If it can, it will say specifically that it can in the manual.
Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair issue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting. There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're under warranty, this will cost you nothing. If you're not under warranty the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.

SOURCE: Memorex DVD player
What a genius!! I just did a search for the same problem after moving my DVD player to a different location. I thought that maybe we broke it when we disconnected. THANK YOU!!!

Sounds like a build up of dust on the lens.
2 options -
Either buy a DVD lens cleaner
Note DVD LENS cleaner, NOT DVD Cleaner the latter is for the discs, not the player
or second option is to remove lid from your player (usually 5 or 6 screws) and gently swab the lens with a cotton bud or similar soft lint free product. Try not to push too hard on the lens or you may damage the mechanism.
The lens is really obvious as it faces upwards and looks like a small round clear glass bead.
Make sure its unplugged too!
