Frigidaire washer door catch is stuck, washer won't run

After looking at the schematic of this machine it seems that the door AND the control board have to work perfectly together in order for the safety mechanisms to operate correctly. You may have a bad control board or a loose wire. The best thing to do is look closely at a schematic and make sure that everything looks right. here is a blueprint: http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/model/index.php?id=FWT449GFS1

Affinity frigidare front load washer won't start. It beeps with message flashing (DR)

Hello zabbster - Typically the DR or DO error code indicates that the door switch is not closed. Make sure that the door lock is completely closed. If the door is closed, make sure the door latch is not broken. If the latch is broken, you may possibly need to replace the door lock switch.

Door lock sensor on affinity washer

It sounds like the entire door latch assembly needs to be replaced. The sensor inside is no longer communicating correctly with the main control board.

All cycles are working except the spin cycle. I have visually inspected the wiring connections and motor and dont see any obvious issues. There are no error codes and the LED lights seem to be functioning...

Because of the high spin speeds of front load washers, the doors are equipped with a latch and lock mechanism to prevent the door from being opened during the washers operation. These locks will often be actuated by a solenoid or wax motor to ensure they remain latched during the wash cycle. This model uses a two stage lock that latches the door when the load starts, and then when it is time to spin, the second lock engages to ensure the door is properly secured prior to beginning the spin. When this second lock engages, it also closes a set of switch contacts (the auxiliary door switch) telling the control board the door is closed and locked. If for some reason this switch is not closed, the washer will tumble during what would normally be the spin cycle until the entire cycle is complete.

Makes a loud buzzing noise when attempting to start cycle

The lock solenoid on the door latch assembly may be hanging up or just noisey. If washer starts and runs then all is ok. If washer wont start, just buzzes, then door latch assembly may have to be changed.

I close washer door but it wont go through cycle

Check to see if one of the two tabs on the door latch assembly are broken. If one is broken, replace the door latch. If the door latch is ok, you might have to replace the door switch and the door latch. To replace the door switch you have to remove the front panel. Remove the two screws holding the door switch assembly in place and drop the door switch assembly down into the bottom of the washer. Remove the wires and transfer to the new switch. Reach up and line up the new switch and install the two screws. Remove the two screws on the door latch assembly on the door, and remove old door latch. Install the new latch and replace the front panel. I hope this helps.

My affinity washer will not close to start a cycle. the buzzer goes off and i get the code "dr" but it seems to close fine

Have a service technician test the sensor in the door jam that senses when the door is closed (this is signaled by the electronic lock).

My frigidaire affinity wont start

Yes, the original issue was the control from the beginning. the control is damaged and it cannot register the latch at this point. this is necessary and , it will fix the issue.

My Frigidaire affinity washer doesn't start: the "door locked" button doesn't come on though the door is closed properly

If the washer fills with water, but will not start the wash cycle or spin, it is 1 of to things. the most common for frigidaire front load affinitys is the door lock assembly. I have had to replace numerous of these. if the door lock indicator is not on when it tries to wash, you need to replace the door lock assembly. if the door lock indicator is on, but wont wash, it is likly that you have a bad motor control board.
