SOURCE: Will only charge to 40 psi, is supposed to charge to 150

You may have a problem still related to the original reason it was reconditioned.

However, you should have a regulator that you set to the tank pressure you want to maintain. Most have a tool regulator as well and 40 psi sounds like that is what it is set for.

If you do have a tank pressure regulator and it is still not charging above 40 psi, then either take it back or pick up a new regulator for under $20 at Home Depot and replace the gauge you have now.

Also, sometimes the gauge will have a needle tilted so that one end presses against the glass, and if you tap the glass hard with your finger it will move on around to the correct pressure.

Finally, if you are not experienced with small compressors, look under your gauge and see if there is not a black knob that pulls out and pushes in to turn and change the pressure.

SOURCE: leaking air at regulator

Replace it. Any attempt to repair will not last long enough to make it worth while if you are successful at all. Eric

SOURCE: I need a new belt for my Husky air compressor but I don't know

You may be able to find the belt you need on ebay. There is a seller named "Footballcardcellar" who lists these often and they are alot cheaper than buying the kit from Husky. Just search "Air compressor belt husky"

SOURCE: My porter cable air compressor

The airr pressure cut off switch is not working or out of alignment. What you can do is to adjust the spring with the air pressure reading at your required pressure. Once this is done allow the air to flow so that the compressor will work again to cur off, you will have to trim once again to set it to the correct condition. If the spring assembly is not working well on pressure you can remove and reset. If the contact are dirty , the switch on may not start the compressor, in such case clean the contacts. But if you think that it is not acting responsive, the please replace the unit and do the settting as explained above.
I hope you try this out. Good day

Why can't i get over 35 lbs on my job boss air compressor?

Check for internal leaks in compressor - compression rings on the cylinder braking often.
Another problem would be fittings or piping leak - usually a simple O-ring replacement will do a job.

My Porter Cable Job Boss compressor won't shut off. It builds up pressure but just continually runs.

Pressure switch - replace as soon as possible
Overpressure would be possible in that tank - it is dangerous !

When I plug in my Porter Cable job boss compressor it barely turns over and usually blows the breaker. Any thoughts?

If this happens with no pressure in the tank then you may have a bad start capacitor on the motor.
If this only happens after the tank is full of air then you need to make sure the check valve is working and releasing the head pressure from the lines.

Bought new porter cable oiless boss compressor and want to know what i need to do before operatining it for intial use

The first thing is to make sure the compressor pump has oil!

Run the unit with the tank drain open for 10 minutes to break the compressor and rings in. Let the motor cool for 30 minutes and then use the compressor as normal.
Make sure to change the oil every 50 hours of use

Does not auto turn off

Sounds like the pressure switch is shorted together. Unwire the switch and see if it shuts off.

Wont pressure up

Most likely your portercable piston ring/seal broke. Its not hard to fix if you are mechanically inclined. See portercable site for rebuild kit.
