Question about Jenn-Air http://www.jennair.com/catalog/product.jsp parentCat=2&cat=17&prod=155 Electric Range
HI, your oven light is protected from the intense heat in this case so, it is not dangerous to run the cleaning cycle in this case but, i do not recommend it at this time..
The actual issue concerns the oven door pressure switch or, Oven light control switch(depending on the model). during the power outage, this switch was basically fried(power surge). the circuit is , essentially, stuck closed. When a circuit is in this situation. it is rendered inoperable and, the actual device that it is controlling will remain in a suspended state. in this case, the suspended state is the on position(illuminated light). I recommend replacing the Oven light control switch(toggle). this will fix this issue.
NOTE**(Some Jenn air models may have a door pressure switch and a toggle as well that work in conjunction. replace both switches in this case)
