Question about Xerox DOCUMATE 510 Flatbed Scanner

When I use the automatic feeder on my Xerox Documate 510 Scanner, I am getting a solid black line vertically down the page. How can I fix this?

Hello.

I am a Support Engineer with Xerox Scanners.

What you have described is caused by dirt or debris on the ADF scanning capture glass. Open the lid to your scanner as though you are going to place a document on the flatbed. You will see the large flatbed glass. On the short edge nearest the ADF, you will find a raised strip of glass. This is where the pages in the ADF pass over the scan head. Please clean this strip of glass to rectify the issue that you have described.

Clean the scanner ! typically something has fastened on the reading unit.
Read manual for the procedure

I want to find replacement parts for the ADF feeder, specifically 57-0100-000 ADP Pad, and 57-0110-000 Roller Assembly


Hi, I don't know if it's permissible to advertise but we currently sell the assembly for the Xerox Documate scanners. As far as I know the scanner's discontinued, and the pads are getting pricey so consider how much longer you want to wait before replacing the scanner.

Black line in the middle of the output - scaned document


Hello,

A black line down a scanned page indicates a dirty scan glass. Lift the top of you scanner like you would putting a page or book down to scan. On the end of the scanner that has the document feeder you should see a thin piece of glass the is separate from the larger glass pane. This is the document feeder glass. Now check it over for a very small mark of ink or dirt. You can use regular glass cleaner to wipe this glass just spray it on a piece of cloth not the scanner then wipe. You may have to wipe and then try scanning several times if the ink or marker is died on. while you are cleaning you should also clean the main glass pane, it will make the scans clearer and crisper.

Often this is merely a mark on the scanner glass. When using the automatic document feeder the light/sensor will stay in one spot and motors will feed it. Make sure to clean the glass in this part usually left of the large glass area is a smaller strip see if there is a mark on the glass there.

My Xerox Documate 510 adds a line from top to bottom down each scanned document. The line only appears when something is fed into the paper feeder and does not happen when scanned single sheet at a time on...


you probably have something on the scanning bulb when it goes through the feeder. The scanning bulb is directly to the left of where you use the flatbed. Clean that glass with a dry, clean cloth and you should be back in business.

There is some contamination on that side of the glass. Look on the side where you feed in the paper in the scanner.
Only takes a smallest of spots on the glass where the lamp parks in the document scanner mode.
Clean that throughly and see if maybe there is something on the bottom of the seal glass. Like i said, it can be a very small very hard to see mark on the glass.

Check the tabs on either side that latch the cover down. One or both may be broken and not latchingthe cover.
