Question about RCA TH1602 MP3 Player
Battery went dead. replaced battery and now it won't get past the pearl screen. I tried pluging it into computer, and computer didn't recognize it. I have only used this twice. My music is gone also. I need the software to download music and some instructions. What did I do wrong? Is there a reset button?
Last night I replaced my battery and my unit would not go any further than the Pearl logo. So this morning I downloaded the firmware upgrade from http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2243/related/1, and followed all the troubleshooting instructions that popup when you start the program:
start the program,
remove the battery,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button the the term "initalizing" replaces "searching",
check the box that says "format data",
click the start button to replace the firmware.
After I did this, my pearl started normally, and my computer recognized it again. It also fixed my aac-error problem.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
