CAUTION: Fuser may be hot. Turn off printer, unplug it and allow it to sit for 20
to 30 minutes before performing these maintenance procedures.

Fusing Assembly Removal and Replacement
1. Remove Back cover:
a.) Open the face up delivery door and press the door down to disengage two door stops
b.) Remove the two screws just above the door stops
c.) Swing the bottom of the cover out first, and then the top
2. Remove I/O cover:
a.) Rotate cover to clear the tabs on right side of cover
3. Remove fusing assembly:
a.) Disconnect black cable above main power cord receptacle
b.) Disconnect two cables on left side of fuser
c.) Remove duplex inlet guide (below fuser) by lifting two locking tabs
d.) Remove four screws from each corner of fuser
e.) Pull fuser straight back
4. Reassemble in reverse order

I gave you the full repair manual for your printer and you gave a bad rating, well thanks.

Instructions are at page 31 on manual.

By the way, let the printer unplugged for one hour and ensure that the fuser is not hot, then do the following:

    Open upper top cover.
    Press the two blue tabs.
Turn the old fuser cartridge up and pull it out.
Put in the new cartridge and close the cover.

I will be grateful if you can change the bad rating given.

    Thanks.

My HP Laserjet 3005 has faint print on the righthand side for at least the first 2". I have fitted a new toner but this has made no difference. Could this be the fuser unit?

If it happens even after replacing the toner cartridge or if you current cartridge has enough toner, it is most likely be due to dust at the laser reflecting mirrors inside the printers, which partially blocks laser beams and requires cleaning/ servicing by a professional.

GoodLuck!
Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help!

HP-LASERJET PRINTER PROBLEMS   HP-3005 NO PROPAR PRINT OUT      NOSE PROBLEMS

Check one of the followings:
Paper jammed anywhere visible? Rollers, etc?
All the trays are closed properly?
Toner, Drum Unit or the Fuser Unit don't need changing?

See if you can print out the Printer Status of the Printer from it's menu which would give you some statistics of what needs to be replaced etc.

Contact your HP Dealer nearest you to fix that problem, it could still be under warranty so there'll be no added cost to you.

All the best!

Hp laserjet 3005 making loud grinding sound when inialising

The problem is the fuser and gears associated it with it.

The mose common solution is to replace the fuser assembly as well as the 4 gears inside the unit where the fuser touches those gears.

This solution works about 85% of the time.

thanks adi
