It sounds like to emule client is hogging all your bandwidth. Try and limiting your emule client to only use 70% of your total bandwidth. If you don't know your internet speed, then go to and run a test

Try the DSL modem directly connected to the PC.No D-Link Router(powered off and disconnected). Verify that the PCcould surf/browse/connect to the Internet. Go to Start, Control Panel,Network Connections, right click Local Area Connection, Properties, scroll down to/highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Properties button.Get the IP Add, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS assigned to the PC(write this down. This will be your WAN/Internet IP settings). Then Disable DHCP of your modem if it has one. OK, close, save or whatever is applicable.

Disconnect the DSL modem from the PC. Connect D-Link Router to PC (wired/LAN) without the modem connected to the router.Go again to Start, Control Panel, Network Connections, right clickLocal Area Connection, Properties, scroll down to/highlight InternetProtocol(TCP/IP), Properties button. Tick "Use the following IPaddress". Enter this IP Add, Subnet Mask255.255.255.0,Default Gateway and the DNS from what youhave written down earlier). This will be your LAN IP settings. OK,close, save or whatever is applicable.

Open a browser and log into the D-Link router (, using "admin" as a username and no password). Do not run Wireless Network Setup Wizard. In WAN/Internet/Modem setting of router enable/check Static IP Add.Usethe IP numbers previously assigned to PC that you have written down asthe router's WAN/Internet/Modem IP settings. OK, close, save orwhatever is applicable. Reboot router. Connect DSL modem to router.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Forwarding ports on my router

I'm really not sure if opening those port will increase your internet connection, because if you have a slow connection you better check it from your ISP. You only need to open port if you're having problem with some application like servers and games.

But you really want to try to opening that port check this link how to do it, this is a sample on how to open port on your router.

Emule Show Low ID on Client Computer

Dear sir/madam,

You can update the servers it may be become fast. Go this site and add all servers (add to emule) click this link, they automatically update the servers.

OR try this

First of all you need to know the IP of the computer that you use with Emule.

Then go to the router configuration:

- Choose "NAT Settings", and "Virtual Server".

1- If it isn't enabled, enable the "Virtual Server".

2- In "Well-Known Applications" choose de option "User defined".

3- Now the crucial part. Under the Virtual Server List, in the "Local IP" you place the IP of your computer (on the example,, i.e. my emule computer ip), "Port Range" put 4662 and Protocol TCP. "Protocol nº." stays blank, and in the "description" you can put Emule Rule Nº1.

4- Click ADD, to add the rule to the table.

- Again you make the same passes from 3 to add the second rule:

3- In the "Port Range" you place 4672 instead 4662, and on Protocol you place UDP instead TCP. On "Description" you can place Emule Rule Nº2.

4- Click ADD.

5- After making the 2 rules, click Finish, and on the next screen click on Save&Restart button.

In the next time you start Emule, you can acess to the servers without Low ID.

Don't forget to rate the solution

DI-524 wireless router as wireless switch

You need to disable the DHCP server on your "slave" wireless router ( the di-524 ). In D-link routers this might be called configuring it to be an "Access point".

When this happens, connecting to the second wireless router should cause your computer to obtain an IP address which is in the range of the first router (that is to say, it will use the first router's dhcp server).

You should be able have your laptop connect with an automatic IP address and have it work.

How to port forward using Dlink DI-524 for Emule?

DMZ is a feature that is included on some routers but is not in Internet sharing software. A DMZ allows a single computer on your LAN to expose ALL of its ports to the Internet. When doing this, the exposed computer is no longer ?behind? the firewall. Port Forwarding vs DMZ A DMZ is far easier to set up than port forwarding but exposes your entire computer to the Internet. Sometimes TCP/IP applications require very specialized IP configurations that are difficult to set up or are not supported by your router. In this case, placing your computer in the DMZ is the only way to get the application working. Placing a computer in the DMZ should be considered ?temporary? because your firewall is no longer able to provide any security to it.

Low ID on eMule

One more thing re low id on emule - try to choose ports between 10000 and 60000 - many isps block the standard ports that emule users choose, and you will see people saying to choose one over 5000, but I'd chosen ports between 5000 and 10000, and still had no luck until I went over10000.
Most isps don't monitor ports over 10000, so if you still have low id problems even after port forwarding and setting up your firewall, this may be the answer to your problem! (I got this info off, and it worked for me)

Configure for emule

You must open ports on your router to allow incoming traffic while using eMule. eMule uses three ports*: 4662 (TCP) 4672 (UDP) 4711 (TCP) Visit eMule here. * To prevent getting a low ID (Firewalled), open additional TCP ports between 4661 and 4665. Also, limit the number of connections in the eMule software. You may need to change the TCP Clientport to something other than 4662.
