It sounds like the convergence circuit has failed for the blue. The repair should be done by a professional. Cost wise you are looking around 250.00 to 300.00.
Hope this helps,

My screen has blue and red lines across it. Now the red lines are becoming stronger and the screen flashes red until it turns off. how do i fix this?

This is for if the lines are thin and in the form of an arc across the screen.

You need to turn down the screen voltage for the blue and red CRT. I believe the access is through the front on that model.

1) Remove the front grill
2) There should be access panel you need to remove once you remove the front grill. This is where the screen voltage adjustment is located
3) Look for a small black box with six knobs on it. One row is for "Focus" and one row is for "screen". It will be marked, but probably need a flashlight to see which row it is. There will be a "R", "G" and "B" next to each knob to represent Red, Green Blue respectively.

4) Careful with the access panel removed, you are only inches away from very dangerous voltages.
5) slowly turn the R or B knob counterclockwise until the lines on the screen disappear.
Keep your hands away from everything else and only use one hand near the tv. put the other hand behind your back.

6) Once corrected, replace the panel and put the grill cover back on.

How did I correct blue and red lines curved across a blank screen of my KP-57WV600 SONY Projection TV?

This is for if the lines are thin and arc.

You need to turn down the screen voltage for the blue and red CRT. I don't remember if the focus block is in the front or in the back of the tv on this model. Most projections have them in the front.

You could check the back access panel and look for a black box with six knobs as descibed in step 3 below. This is what you are looking for.

follow the steps below if it is located in the front:

1) Remove the front grill
2) There should be access panel you need to remove once you remove the front grill. This is where the screen voltage adjustment is located
3) Look for a small black box with six knobs on it. One row is for "Focus" and one row is for "screen". It will be marked, but probably need a flashlight to see which row it is. There will be a "R", "G" and "B" next to each knob to represent Red, Green Blue respectively.

5) slowly turn the R or B knob counterclockwise until the lines on the screen disappear.

6) Once corrected, replace the panel and put the grill cover back on.

Samsung SP47W3HFX tv blue flickering curved line..

If the lines are slightly curved and stationary on about 2/3 of the screen its either the Blue CRT or the Blue CRT drive board which is having the problem.

BLUE SCREEN WITH FAINT CURVED TRACE LINES

I am the one who wrote that solution--this varies a little from model to model but here is the basic:

v\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} o\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} w\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} .shape {behavior:url(#default#VML);} Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} SONY WITH BLUE SCREEN PROBLEM:

You may have a bad blue picture tube but there is a way to deal with this first----the set has a black plastic block with six controls---three are Focus(red, green, blue) the other 3 controls are Screen controls(red, green, blue) Someone has to remove the entire piece on the front of the set below the screen(usually a plastic part) most of the time it is secured with 3 screws on either side of the set in the back; once you remove the screws the entire piece should pull out(pull from right to left(it will not fall off or come out easy--it is held in with several large plastic pegs) With it removed there is an inspection plate with 4 screws-----the screen/focus block is behind it.

You need to look very closely at the block to identify the focus versus screen controls----one row left to right will be marked Focus and the other row left to right will be marked screen------YOU need to locate the Blue Screen control(they are black like the block) With the set on(be careful) go to a video input clip_image001.gif with nothing connected---if you see a blue screen as well as the input number turn the BLUE SCREEN CONTROL SLOWLY TO THE LEFT UNTIL THE BLUE is gone.

If this cures the problem you may only be buying yourself some time----if the blue picture tube is bad sooner or later this trouble may return----I have seen sets where this was adjusted and the set worked for a year or more with no repeat of the trouble----replacing the blue tube would likely cost you 400 - 500 parts and labor.

I do this here for free so if this has helped you take a moment and give me a vote here.

Picture problems

OK to help assist everyone having the BLUE HUE and CURVED LINES Issue on their Rear Projection HDTV no matter their model. Here are the steps to take. The first thing to check is the FOCUS BLOCK or G2 Focus Transformer or CRX F-Pack. I have replaced mine, however it didn't resolve the issue. I am onto the next item the CRT Board for Blue (Which is the board under one of the three color lamps inside your tv) Please see photo below (if photo is not large enough below go to link to review notes as well) If the CRT Board is not it, then the next step will be the Signal Board which is a larger board in the back. In a week I will have a picture of both.

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Remove the outside cover
  2. Remove the wood plank/panel
  3. In the front is the G2 Focus Block/Transformer, while set is on turn the top 3 knobs till the screen goes black/dark grey.
  4. adjusting the colors till you receive the desired or normal color/picture.
  5. Once you have received the proper color/picture tap the side of the Focus Block.
  6. IF The colors go out of wack again and the blue comes back strong then this "CAN BE" the Focus Block.

Replace the G2 Focus Block aka Focus Transformer, if Hitachi it's called a CRX F-Pack. This item will cost about $50. Not expensive. You will likely need a soldiering iron. DO TURN OFF & UNPLUG THE TV WHEN INSERTING ANY METAL OBJECTS INTO THE TV!!

FOLLOW THE PHOTOS/DIAGRAM in link below for assistance in the above instructions. I will post my next process since it was not my Focus Block that was an issue.

Faint red lines in a curved arch like pattern

Guys I did this myself real easy. Just don't turn the corresponding screw too far. Only need to adjust it until the lines go away. Do it on a darker screen so the lines are more visible. I did the red 2 years ago and the green 6months before that. The blue lines are coming on my screen now and I've fixed it in 10 minutes. The TV is amazing.
