Re: laptop cant go wireless

Hi infamouszz,

Is your laptop's wifi turned on? usually you can check this by hitting the Function Key "Fn" and then hit the wifi key which is usually one of the F1-F12 Keys.

let me know if that works out and please rate me if it does!

Cant connect to wireless on dell laptop xps M170

First of all make sure that there is a wireles adapter on your laptop.
There are some XPS M170 Models without one.
If you have one, we can try to solve the problem?
1. Make sure that the driver of the Wifi adapter and the Chipset are propertly installed. Try to download the newest driver from the dell web site accordng your os
2. If there is a third party conection software like Conection manager or else, deinstall it an let windows manage your networks
Hope this helps you. I will need a screenshot and some further descriptions in order to solve the problem if the 2 solutions above dont help.

Cant turn on wireles connectivity

Did you reconfigure your wireless settings in the network settings in the control panel under the wireless connection settings you could try turn it on that way. if its a case that the switch its self is not responding to the new could try running hardware diagnostics on that specific area. ie the wireless network card. dont no if thats much help but its all i got for now.

How to find wireless switch on dell inspiron 6000 laptop running windows XP

Hi there,

There is no physical wireles switch on your laptop. You should however, be able to hold down the "fn" key at bottom left of the keyboard and then hit the F2 key at top left to turn your wireless on or off. If that does not provide the desired effect, then your wireles adapter may be disabled, in which case you should right click on the wireless icon in the bottom right system tray and choose "Repair" or "Enable".

Best of luck to you.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 w/ window xp. I show my wireless connection on the signal is excellent but when i click internet explorer its says its connect to internet - i dont have working offline clicked...

Try connecting to another wireless connection... if it connects to another connection and you get to the internet, then it is something with your wireless router or modem. Your PC can "see" a wireless connection, so it is NOT PC hardware.

It sounds like you can connect to the router, but cannot go through the router to get to the internet. Probably a simple issue with your modem or router. Try power cycling the modem, and power cycling the router. Then restart your PC and try connecting again.

If all that fails, try installing Mozilla Firefox and see if that will get out to the internet. It may be a problem with Internet Explorer.

Ubuntu 8.10 - acer aspire one 150-Ab wireles not working

Ahhh, Ubuntu. You may need to go online and find wireless drivers that will work with your wireless card.

On an unrelated note, OpenSolaris has an option on it to download all of the compatible drivers for your computer when you first hardwire it to an internet connection, so if you keep having trouble with ubuntu, you could always try switching over to that.
