Re: DVI connection

On your projector first, set it on auto search, power on the DVD player. Check the cable or replace the cable.

Hooking up projector to laptop with only HDMI port

The PG-F320W has a DVI-I port between the VGA/Component input and the VGA output. You will need an HDMI to DVI cable or a HDMI to DVI adapter and either an HDMI or a DVI cable. If you use the audio input of the projector, you will also need the audio cable between the computer and the projector. (Make sure to disable the HDMI as the audio playback device. In Windows, go to the Hardware and Sound Control Panel. Then go down to Sound and Manage Audio Devices. Click on the Playback tab and check your output device. Click on Start for Windows 7 and earlier, Windows Key + X for Windows 8. Then select Control Panel.) has good prices for most cables. The HDMI to DVI cables are here: .

The manual for the PG-F320W is available here: . See page 21 for the DVI cable connection information. See page 61 for video resolutions that the projector can handle.

I hope this helps.

I see no red and green colors on screen projected by pjtx 100, the rest of the colors are visible.

If you are using a component video cable (Red, Green, Blue) you may simply be missing the Red cable. It may not be fully plugged in.
You can verify that this is the case by: 1. Unplugging all video cables 2. Plug in the green cable, you should see a black and white image. 3. Plug in the blue cable, you should see some colours coming through. 4. Plug in the red cable, you should see all colours properly.
If not, unplug the blue and red cables and plug the blue cable into the red port. The colours will look incorrect, skin tones will be blue. If the colour comes through the problem is the cable. If the colour does not come through, the problem may be the projector.

Can the Optoma EP739 be ceiling mounted and projected upside down? what are the steps to do so? also, what would be the best mount for said projector?

Mine has been in place for about three years. Because the ceiling was open I was able to create a connection for a tripod head on the ceiling and then using a STRONG tripod head and some small bolts (longer than the originals) I mounted an external base and with the tripod head fitting dttached to the projector it just became a matter of running the various connector cables from the sources I use that require projection to my wall.

How to mount using a universal ceiling mount

first, find out the distance range on your projector for the best fitting image on your wall. next, what type of ceiling? if it's a drop ceiling, use a plate to span the 2 feet between braces and clamp it to them. and it's always safe to attach a safety cable from the mount to something sturdy, like wood or heavier metal. if you are putting it on a drywall ceiling, find a stud to screw it in to. do not use drywall anchors to hold it. if you can get above the drywall, use a backer board (2x4 or plywood, 1/2" or thicker) and screw the mount through the drywall into that. the other end of the mount screw into the bottom of the projector (3 or 4 m4 holes should be already on the bottom of the projector. use the screws provided. you'll have to adjust the mount so it matches the projector holes. once it's mounted, you'll have to adjust the image. go into the menu and select ceiling image, and adjust the keystone. pop in a movie and enjoy!

No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.
