Question about Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

Ummmm I feel stupid

I was given an Emerson MW8115SS Microwave as a wedding gift 3 years ago, it works great and have no problems with it however the light bulb has burnt out and I managed to lose my owners manual between the 150 mile move we made. I am not sure what kind of light bulb it takes and how to change it. I have tried looking up an owners manual on Emerson's site but that model number doesn't bring anything up. I have only found it on sale at walmart. Hopefully someone can help a little bit. Thanks.

The manual is on the Emerson site at:

But it doesn't seem to mention a way for you to change the lamp.

Manufacturers used to include access panels in the rear or side so you could easily change the bulb. That exposed the customer to 110V connectors, and that posed a real liability threat, so they stopped using them.

You now must generally remove the outer cover to replace the bulb.

If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa:
