Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook

My dell inspiron 1501 is shuting down by it's self. i think that is because of the heat! someone have encountered same problem? and i see that when it works at 100% procesor it turns of very quick! what should i do .. because if i send it to the service i will see it back in a month or 2 and i dont have any other computer to work with!

Try running it till it shuts off, then remove the battery from underneath--if it is very hot, it may be in trouble--replace it. Some of these batteries have caught fire in various machines. Normally, a laptop runs fairly cool.

Overheats and shuts down


first of all make sure your notebook has good ventillation to the base ie: not resting on bedcovers or simaillar items which will block the base where the fan is sittuated, this is vital to enable your machine to draw in air to cool it down. secondly can you hear the fan running if not the fan could be clocked jammed or even broken, alternatively you could check or replace the heatsink , this is an object in your machine which absorbs the heat.

My laptop is DELL Inspiron 1501 it is now quite often shut down by itself without notice. How can I solve this problem?


there is so many resons of shutdown it may be your pc has so much dust on the possessor fan due to dust ur possessor produce heat and its will be shutdown automatically

Black screen on 1501 Inspiron laptop


I wen t to Dell website and did search for 1501 Inspiron laptop. After I found the product, I entered "black screen" and did another search. The search brought up 3 problems. One of them had several of the problems I had encountered, including black screen, horizontal lines, blue screen at times.
The solution was to download and update my Video driver. This seems to have solved my issues.
