How to test fuel pressuer on a mazda 929

Find your test valve on your fuel rail (under the hood) and you will need a fuel pressure regulator gauge to check the pressure. You can also look up online the specs for the pressure recommended. You did not provide your size engine so i could not look up specs for the pressure. Hope this helps.

WHAT ARE THE SPECS FOR FUEL PRESSURE, HOW MANY P.S.I SHOULD I HAVE IN FUEL LINE? 89 NISSAN P/U 2.4L

Generally speaking, modern gas fuel injected systems average 30-40+ psi. Older carburator engines only required 3-7 psi. High pressure in the injector helps atomize the fuel for better air-fuel mix. Check maufacturers specs and use proper tools to measure fuel pressure. Eye protection recommended.

I just changed the fuel pump in a 1990 firebird. There is still no fuel to the fuel injector

Check fuel pressure at the rail. If it's not within specs, check the pressure relief valve on the fuel rail - the one that feeds fuel back to the tank.

If the pressure IS within specs, it's time to start seriously suspecting the car's computer.

How to check fuel pressure

With a fuel pressure gauge. If there is a test port called a schraeder valve on the fuel rail on top of the engine, it's easy. If no test port, you have to tee off the fuel line somewhere convenient (like right after the fuel filter) and hook your gauge up there. Hook the gauge up, make sure of no leaking, turn key to on, and read the pressure (it will read the same pressure in the line as at the fuel rail). Check pressure with key on, and then with engine running- if at the specs for your vehicle, it's good. If pressure is below specs, pinch off or pull off the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, and see if pressure raises. If it does, try another pressure regulator. If no change, check the fuel return line for restrictions, check or replace the fuel filter, or suspect a poor performing fuel pump. On MPFI systems the pressure should be about 50 psi, but find the specs for your vehicle.

Fuel pressure specs for gmc sonoma 4.3

2001-2004 gmc sonoma 4.3 [X, W Eng.] fuel system specs: 60-66 psi when you turn the ignition key (fuel pump) on without starting the engine. If fuel pressure drops back down quickly after fuel pump stops working (works for only 5 sec.) then you have a bad fuel pump or leaking injector spider.
