1 Answer

The unit produces steam but does not have the pressure to the cleaning pad. The water pump handle does not retract all the way either. Related?

My h2o mop won't steam. How do i fix it?

If your H2O mop will not steam:
1. Ensure you have followed the operating instructions.
2. Ensure you have followed the troubleshooting instructions.

If the unit fails to produce steam:
3. Switch off the power at the outlet.
4. Look at the water reservoir. Inside you will see a flexible tube with a cone on the end. Tilt the unit or give it a gentle shake to submerge the cone in water.
5. With the cone submerged, switch on the power supply and follow the normal instructions. The unit should produce steam as normal.

Note: Unless the cone is submerged in water, the unit will not steam.

My Hometek Steam Penguin wont produce steam

Hi
I opened whole thing and found that no suction to the pump or pressure from the pump. Opened the clear box which contains the pump and the el-motor. Then I opened the white pump and found it was assembled wrong way round. There are two tiny one way silicon "valves" which should produce the flow of the water to the heater. I also wiped off part of the sticky grease away. Now it works. 4 hours work, but it was interesting to learn the function :) .

My shark steams at the bottom of the handle but not at the foot of the mop. What is the problem?

sounds like the steam hose between the handle and the floor pad has a blockage in it and / or the pad exit holes are blocked with debris. clean and clear holes and hose and this should restore the unit to working condition.

Shark stopped steaming how to fix this

It may be mineral deposits. Empty reservoir of water, add 1/2 cup of CLR. Let sit 1 hour. Take mop outside with a mop head on but not the cloth padding. Plug it in and start pumping the handle to prime it. I used cardboard to do this on to cushion the mop and soak up moisture. Keep pumping handle until the mineral deposits clear and full steam is coming out. When I was done, I unplugged the mop, dumped out remaining CLR, and rinsed out mop reservoir with water. Please add fresh water, plug in and steam out rest of CLR out of tube leading to mop head. Otherwise your mop will still issue out CLR steam. As always, be careful to unplug and let the unit cool down before adding or removing CLR, water or mop head. Steam can cause serious burns.

The lid was stuck for a year and when i finally got it open and tried to use it is has all this white stuff in it and won't produce steam much. how do i clean it out? can i use ctr?

Put a cup of WHITE vinegar in it, shake it u and let it set for 20 minutes. Pour out 1/2 of the vinegar and replace it with water. Plug it in and it SHOULD melt the deposits away. If you still don't get pressure, clean the rim where the seal fits, with scotch brite or a good fine abrasive pad. You can soak the pad with vinegar to help the process.
