I use Logitech cordless at home and they do go through lots of batteries. You need to make sure of a couple of things. Pretty obvious but they will stop the mouse from working.

Are the batteries fresh or new and of the right type? These will work on nimh rechargeables but the power is low even after a full charge and may not work at all in some models. Alkalines are what they want. These supply 1.5+ volts when new compared to 1.2 for a recharged nimh.

Are they in the right way? Happens to the best of us.

Check the connectors on the back of the pc. Make sure they are in straight. The mouse connector is not as bad as the keyboard but both are usually slightly loose. They will tip a abit and cause connection problems. The weight of the cables or any movement of other cables is all it takes to do this. If you are not seeing lights on the antenna then check this. Keyboard can be checked by pressing numlock of caps key and you should see a light go off or on. On the mouse you may have to press the reset button on the bottom to get it working again.

If none of these work the mouse probably needs to be replaced.

My wireless mouse stopped working; I changed the batteries and still no light. Can you suggest a solution? I tried the connect button but no change. Thanks for any help!

usually there is a button on the bottom of the wireless mouse that you can push at the same time you push the button on the mouse adapter on the pc. Simulataneously push both and see if that doesn't help.

If that doesn't work, change batteries. If that doesn't work, uninstall the mouse and reboot. Software should reinstall.

Fairly new mouse (new batteries also)not working. Solid blue light when plugged into USB port but cursor will not move at all when click mouse buttons or scroll bar. Rebooting system nor unplugging USB...

First make sure your mouse is installed properly. Go to Device Manager and see if it lists the mouse and has no conflicts. Also, try a different USB port, especially if it doesn't show up. If your receiver and mouse have reset or connect buttons on them you'll need to push those also. try alternate batteries. if none of these suggestions can solve your problem you may be looking at a defective mouse.

Spyder mouse won't work

I had a similar problem. I corrected by performing a manual connect as listed in the manual that came with the mouse.
Manual reconnect:
1. Plug in the receiver.
2. Turn on the mouse.
3. Press the button on the receiver.
4. Press the connect button on the mouse once within five seconds of pressing the button on the receiver.

This worked for me, and the mouse has worked fine since.

If this doesn't work. The manual suggested taking the batteries out of the mouse for 20 seconds and unplugging the receiver, then repeat the steps above.
If that doesn't work. reboot the computer and repeat the steps above.

Hope this helps.

Stopped working. battery changed, reset button

Dear Barb400,
You might have tried this already however just wanted to make sure ... Did you try connecting the mouse to receiver .. I mean .. there is a connect button beneath the mouse and there is a connect button on the Receiver that's connected to the USB of your computer .. Did you try pressing connect button on receiver and mouse simultaneously for 2 to 3 seconds and release .. If not then please let me know if this works..
Even if it doesn't work still I would love to hear from you so that I can suggest some other troubleshooting steps.

Hope that works for you :)

Regards,
Srinivas

Check underneath for dirt or debris blocking the laser light lens, try on a different surface ie (mousepad). If that doesn't solve your problem, it's time for a new one.

Dynex wireless mouse DX-PWLMSE won't work

The mouse should be Plug and Play. Did you install the drivers before plugging the mouse's receiver in? The PC has to have the drivers first in order to take advantage of the Plug and Play capability. If you plugged the mouse's receiver in before installing the drivers, unplug the mouse receiver, uninstall the driver, reboot your PC, reinstall the driver, then plug the receiver in and you should be fine.

Otherwise, press the Connect button on the receiver first, and then the Connect button on the mouse, and that should establish the connection. You don't need to disable your touch pad in order to use the mouse.

Flahsing Red Light

Now what you have to do is look for a reset button on your mouse and your wireless mouse signal receiver.
When the receiver and mouse both are on press the reset button on both of them one by one.
This should solve the problem.

Logitech cordless mouse problem

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud
