Contact Toshiba right away, also there is a board in the middle of the notebook under the LCD Assembly this may be damaged or wires loose, is the LED lights blinking radicly when you turn it on? If so note this and let Toshiba know what color and how often, also there may be a beep sound listen and write it down, this is a hardware issue, it is possbile that your video card is dead, if you have an integrated video card then your motherboard is dead too.

To turn on the TV:

Turning the Display On and Off

There is a power switch on the bottom of the display and a power button on top. The power switch is used to cut off power completely, whereas the power button turns the screen off but
allows the remote to continue working.
To turn the display on:
1. If the power light on the front of the display is off, turn on the power switch on the bottom of the display.
2. Press the POWER button.

To turn the display off:
1. Press the POWER button.
2. If the display will be unused for an extended period of time, turn off the power switch on the bottom of the display and disconnect the power.

Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up! Thanks so much for understanding, it would be a huge help to me. I would be forever grateful if you could do this for me. If you still have a question or concern about this problem please just respond / reply to my answer here before rating my answer.

It is possible that the display is damaged, due to a steam leak in the machine, remove display and check for corrosion on board.

No power. led display very dim

dim display on an ag-1980 may be caused by bad display module or bad electrolytic capacitors in the display power supply. "no power" is probably a bad 12 volt regulator on the main board. the main power supply is working as evidenced by the display lighting up.
