Re: the dead screen

Thats it..its a frequency mismatch..Along with the size of the memory you have something called frequency(133Mhz, 333Mhz) etc., if these frequencies of both rams are not matching your computer is not starting up..try to get a ram of the same frequency..

My computer starts with a long beep and nothing else happen but a red light led (STBY_LED). I've got a Aopen computer motherboard. please help

Long beep means Problem with System Memory. Open the CPU cabinet and Locate the RAM. Remove the RAM by sliding Down both Clips. and insert the RAM back. it will fix the problem. If problem still persists. Try replacing the RAM module. best of luck

Hardlocked;beeping and red light on motherboard;will not restart

Something on the motherboard has failed, and the RED light confirms it.
Turn your computer off.

Remove ALL of the RAM. Turn your computer on.
Do all the fan(s) start to spin?

Do you get the _same_ "beeps" as before, or some different pattern of beeps?

If it has more than one stick of RAM (and the RAM is _NOT_ labelled 'DDR2'),
then remove all but one stick of RAM, turn your computer on, and try to reboot.
Same beeps?

Turn your computer off, try a different single (or pair of) sticks of RAM.

Caution: before doing any of the above, your computer could be within the "WARRANTY" period,
i.e., it could be fixed/replaced for free!

Dont Post

I thunk your rite it met its maker, sounds like you followed all the test procedures, and unfortanuly that's what happens from time to time working great on min then gone to the GB in the sky the next. unless you have a DX card or know someone that has one, (and thats only to confirm its dead) sounds like you need a new system board.
