Check for fragments of papers or foreign objects inside the printer.

Ensure that the printer phone cable is connected, and that there is signal , otherwise it may be hanging on just because no signal is detected.

If this happens only when faxing, and does not happen when scanning and printing paper then the problem is software related.
Test to see if you get the problem doing a regular copy (Scan and Print).
If you do not get the problem, then try uninstalling the printer software and installing it again.

Regards.

Can't fax or copy on brother mfc3240c machine

Sounds like you may have a small obstruction in the scanner feed. This would inhibit making copies and sending faxes. Lift this section up slightly to inspect for small pieces of paper or dust. Blowing it out with compressed air would also be a good idea.

Paper jam in Panasonic KX-

Your document feed is separate from your received and report prints so that's why your reports are printing ok and the document feeder jams. When you open up the doc feeder and look inside the machine you will see a roller and above it on the cover that opens you will see a rubber pad. Clean both the roller and pad (in fact anything in there that is rubber) with a rubber cleaner, alcohol, or even soap and water on a cloth without it been dripping wet. You will probablt find that they are very dirty. The roller feeds the document in so that needs to be clean and the pad helps to keep all the other docs from feeding in at the same time and that should be very clean so it produces good friction.

Either, you have a dirty contact sensor glass (and I hope that is the case) or your contact sensor has a faulty section. The contact sensor is basically the method which your machine uses to scan documents. Even machines with a lamp and mirrors have a slip glass that can get dirty as well as mirrors. Lift up the doc feeder to reveal the glass strip that the document feeds across, you may notice it light up when you lift the cover up or touch the document sensor arm. Hopefully, there is dirt (usually tippex or white out) stuck on the glass in that particular area. Use a alcohol cleaner to remove those stubborn types of dirt and in future let the tippex or white out dry before scanning. It may even be the gum from a post it pad which is harder to see as you look into the feeder but just clean that glass well and hope that you don't need a new contact sensor. Maybe there's paper stuck there.

Hi
There must be some torn paper or something stuck in the Paper feed. You will need to ope the upper face portion by pulling it, and then look for papers/ dirt / pins there, you can either clean it by blowing air or use a blower, or if you can see the particle. Try feeding the paper, it should be ok.

Paper feed not feeding properly

There is a gray rubber pad on the upper half of the feeder.

Take the white piece off and turn the pad 180 degrees.

Outgoing fax makes loud clicking noise

2 different problems here. 1st is with document feed and 2 is with paper feed.

1st prob seems to be with the paper feed roller not meshing at the gear. Probably a broken piece on the lower document tray assembly. No real fix for this unless you can strip it out and haywire it.

2nd prob is probably a poorly meshing drum unit. Examine the gear teeth on both the drum and the machine. As you have replaced the drum already (presumably with a brand new one) You might possibly find a missing or badly worn tooth on the messhing gear in the machine.

The document feeder keeps trying to feed

You have a bad Document transfer sensor. Sensor is located under the doc. transfer roller.
