It's a few years old and worked perfectly, until I fixed it.

Is it new? If so it may be dead on arrival, contact Intel, I suspect the CPU is DOA

Here are some questions and some things to try.

Is this a new motherboard or are you upgrading ram etc?
If it used to work then change things back to the way they were then change things one at a time until it stops working again.

I don't think the CPU fan would be the cause but you never know.

My guess is that the RAM is the wrong type or speed.
Sometimes if all the RAM modules are not identical you can also have problems.

If the ram is not all identical try different combinations of modules.

Have a read of your motherboad manual to see what the rules are for populating different banks.
If you don't have the manual you can normally find them online.

Alienware Area-51 Desktop won't boot up long beep

The fan to the left of your RAM slots needs to spin, it may be the reason for your problem. If this is the CPU fan then you may have a dead CPU.

Contact a computer technician for repair or claim warranty support.

Take care!

I recently upgraded my ram (2 days back) to 1gb on my intel d915gav motherboard, first it seemed to work fine, but now the Pc won't boot, with it connected?

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be

even something as small as a faulty power lead or fan lead can cause you problems

computers need all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end to be able work properly

make sure ram modules and cmos batteries have dust free secure seatings and cmos battery has charge some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail

check all power an data leads make sure they have dust free secure connections

cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

check you CPU make sure its securely seated and has thermal grease

hope this helps

Every time there is a problem of overheating error and my system shuts down .when i restart my computer cpu produce beeps . motherboard is of Intel 915 series is used.......

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problemis not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a can of compressed air to do this.

I am using a intel Dh61ww board with intel i3 2100 processor. When i switch on the pc the cpu fan rotates and halts.no display. pls help me.

The steps I would take would be : 1 make sure you have a power supply with the proper power connections and at least 500 Watts 2 remove and reset the power connections, try to boot 3 disconnect all hard drives and cd/dvd's, try to boot 4 remove all ram/memory sticks, try to boot and listen for the beep or beeps if it doesn't beep and still shuts off, you have a bad motherboard and/or cpu if it does beep, you need to try different ram

After power on Fans are running but no Videosignal, no bios startup.

Could be 3 things Memory or CPU or Powersupply. are you getting any beeps if so how many, how long. try taking all the memory out and powering up see if it beeps if so try to put one stick of memory in at a time and see if it will boot. if you get no beeps with memory out check powersupply some PS's have a red switch on back for current input. switch back and fourth about 20 times uning a pen and set it to the right current for you location. put ram back in see if it will boot if not its trial and error of the PS and the CPU replacement and it still could be the RAM giving false readings. yea i know sounds like a ball of fun.

ok well make sure you have the right ram look in the manual and see if it needs to be non error correcting or error correcting (non ecc or ecc) and if it needs to be registerd or unregisterd ram (AKA: bufferd and unbufferd Ram) dont run it very long with no CPU FAN or it will burn and check that fan by pluging it in someware els thats strange cpu fan is always running when mobo is on.

Mother Board

if it has 2 video cards or had 2 might be disabled in bios. if not and it does not boot at all then it could be CPU Powersupply or RAM, i would start with removing RAM and see if it beeps if it does Power Supply migh be ok, put one stick of RAM back in snd see if it boots swap RAM Slots and stic around to make sure its not a RAM Problem. if still no video and just spinning fans its Trial anf error of the CPU and Power Supply i know it **** but if you have a PoSupply tester that would rule that out. if you are savy enough to remove CPU look for burnning and smell for Burn. Good Luck

Power to everything but CPU fan and case fan - won't boot

Hi this is tech crazy

The solution to the problem is as follows

The main reason for CPU fan overworking or not working is due to the load we put on the syatem while operating. So,the first reason for fan not working may be due to the SMPS malfunctionality.Better check out for it.The reason if fan is working but Overworking is due to viruses is system. So go in for format

Hope this solution helps you

Please do rate me on the above said solution
