Is repair time and parts extensive for this type of repair? Kenmore Front Load Model# 110.45986401

Confirm that it is not the door seal. The door seal can easily be replaced and the parts are available.

You would expect that any water leaking around the door seal would migrate down to the lowest part of the tub leaving the appearance that the leak is where the two half's of the tub are joined by the retaining clips
.
Replacing the seal between the two tub half's is a different story as compared to the door seal. The tub seal is definitely do-able, but not for the faint of heart!!

If the leak is very very small I might wait until a major overall is require such as the tub seal/bearing. If I chose to wait I would monitor the situation.

Inspect the area at the hub of the pulley looking for streaks of rust.. If there is an indication that water is leaking past the basket tub seal than doing an over hall now may included front door seal, tub seal, bearing and basket seal replacement.

Water leaks from door while unit is operating could this be seal or door needs to be adjusted

Hello, If water is leaking from the door most likely you have a tear or a rip in the bellows which is the rubber piece that connects the outter tub to the front cabinet. Look around in the fold of the bellows this is usually where you will find the tear. If you have any further questions message me back. Thanks Rick

Boot rips

The door bellow on front loaders do wear out and require replacement. However, overloading the washer can contribute to premature wear or rips and tears due to items getting caught in the seal. If the bellow is ripped, it will require replacing or the washer will leak. The following link explains step-by-step how to install a door bellow on a Kenmore Elite front loader:

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions.

NOTE: There is another method you may try as well. Although I do not prefer this next method because these washing machines are very heavy, an alternative way of replacing the door bellow is to remove the lower toe panel and tilt the washer back at a 45 degree angle instead of removing the washer front panel. If you use this method, make sure it rests against the wall and will not tip forward. This allows the wash tub to drop down and away from the front panel and gives you access to the the rear bellow clamp through the bottom. This can save you some time.

We have off and on leaks under washer does not matter what cycle it is in and does not happen every time any suggestions . we had a person come take a look he adjusted door but this did not fix.

Inspect the door bellow (seal) for any rips or tears. It may be worn or loose and require replacement. This is a fairly simple repair that anyone can do with a little guidance. The following link explains step-by-step how to install a door bellow on a Whirlpool Duet front loader:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385210-replacing_door_bellow_kenmore_elite

Although the bellow may not have any physical tears, they can also become mishapened over time due to normal wear and not seal properly. You should have a good tight seal all the way around the door.

Some additional items to look for that may cause leaks:

1. Check the dispenser tubes that pentrate the door bellow. Sometimes they get pushed behind the rubber causing the water to trickle behind the bellow and leak. You will notice this on fill and rinse.

2. Check the rear bellow clamp that holds the seal to the front facing of the wash tub. The clamp can come loose, causing it not to seal properly.

3. Check the drain pump and drain hose. If you notice any pooling of water in the cabinet it could be a loose drain hoses or a leaky pump.

4. Check the area under the wash tub. The tub consists of two halves bolted together with a seal in the middle. If the seal is leaking it may need to e replaced. NOTE: This is a labor intensive repair.

5. Check the right hand side of the wash tub for a small air dow hose. Sometimes this hose comes loose and starts leaking. This hose runs to the pressure switch and is what is used to sense the pressure differential in the wash tub. If this hose is leaking, you would have problems with the washer overflowing.

Replace a leaking seal

sorry to tell you but it's very hard and i would suggest calling an expert. before u do push up on the inside of the tub to check for slack. if you feel looseness or a gap up and down(like the tub is loose at the back) you may have a support bearing going out and may have caused the front boot seal to leak. now we are getting into some serious money so wiegh it carefully. :)

Door Seal

Just follow this link and it will explain how to replace the door seal:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385210-replacing_door_bellow_kenmore_elite

This is a very simple repair, if you follow the step-by-step instructions. Take your time and if you have questions, let me know. I hope this helps you.

PS An alternative method is to work through the door with the front panel in place, but this limits access. To make things easier, it is strongly recommended that you remove the front panel.
