Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console
I just got a Dell Inspiron mini. I downloaded the Zune software from the website. When I plug my 30G Zune into it, Windows pops a bubble up that says new hardware is detected. It installs a driver then says to reboot. As soon as it reboots Windows comes back with the same bubble that says new hardware is detected. It installs the driver again, etc. it seems to be a vicious loop. I tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling it. Not the solution. Tried restarting the Zune (back & up button), didn't work. Tried restarting the Zune while connected to the computer, didn't work. It still works fine on my older laptop, which is a Dell Inspiron. Can't remember where I saw it but sometime during my attempts to solve the problem I saw a message that said the driver is not configured correctly. Also, when I checked "printers and other hardware" to try and find the driver, it's not there. I don't know where else to look for it. I've reached the limit of my abilities to solve the problem. Can someone help?
Go to Device Manager by right-clicking on My Computer > Properties. Depending on what version of Windows you are using you will see Device Manager somewhere (might have to switch tabs).
With your Zune plugged in, you should see it under Portable Devices or Disk Drives or something similar (look under anything that could describe the Zune).
Next there are a few things you can try:
1) If the Zune is not installed (has a yellow ! next to it), right click and update driver, then tell it you want to specify where to look, and look in Program Files\Zune\Drivers\Zune\ . The file Zune.inf should be in there, that's the Zune driver.
2) If the Zune is installed, right click and select uninstall, then reinstall the driver I specified in step 1.
That should work, if it doesn't right click on the Zune in Device Manager, go to Properties and tell us if there are any error codes or if it says the device is working properly.
