HI, check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in.

2. Door switch / Door switch actuator lever
The dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

4. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

In your case, the most common issue here will be a defective or damaged Door pressure switch. the non illuminating drum light is a red flag and, basically, confirms that the door switch has failed.

It may sound silly, but check your brake light bulbs to see if they have been installed incorrectly. Brake light bulbs have two filaments, one for tail light, and a brighter one for brake lights. On some cars if the bulb is installed wrong, the brighter filament will stay on for tail lights. The only other thing I can think of is the wrong bulbs have been installed.

I would check the power to the dryer. Might be a loose connection. After confirming that I had power to the machine I would unplug it and check the fuse. It is located on the inside and therefore I would need to break it down, clean it up and check all of the safety's including the duct fuse. Then I would eliminate any air restrictions that may have caused the dryer to fuse to melt from overheating.themobilian_420.jpg

Hot water heater went out when they replaced our dryer doesn't

Make sure the gas valve at the dryer is turned on. Dryers use a glow plug or electronic ignitor to light the gas. There is no pilot light. Plug the dryer in and start it. Look inside the front lower panel to see if the ignitor glows. If it does and the gas does not light then the gas to the dryer is probably turned off. Look for a valve in the supply line to the dryer. Also inside near the front underneath.

Sure sounds like a door switch to me. Is anyone slamming the dryer door? Was there a rubber bumper on the door that is now gone?
