Question about Xerox Phaser 8400 Laser Printer

Paper Jam at exit holder

The printer does not get a lot of use lately but has not been turned off. The printer is jamming at the exit to the paper holder. The print is being left on the drum and is causing the paper to stick and adhere to the drum. I've cleaned drum completely several times after this has happened, keeps doing it. Cleaned everything I can get to. Wondering if it could be a bad maintenance kit. Display shows I have plenty of life left on the kit, but I have no other Idea what could be wrong. Don't won't to get a new printer if I don't have too, but don't want to spend big bucks fixing this one if it's not going to be the same quality and reliability that it should be. Thanks

Hi jam_es_2001:
The roller in the maintenace kit applies a thin layer of oil to the image drum. When the image is applied to the drum the oi prevents the image from sticking. The cleaning blade cleans the drum after the image is applied to paper. After the image is applied to the paper the drum is cleaned by the cleaning blade and new oil is applied to the drum for the next image. Check the roller in maintence kit to see if it is dry, if it is replace the maintenance kit.

Hope this helps

Fix paper jam 2 on a Samsung CLX-3170 printer

paper jam 2 is a jam in the fuser/exit area.

did the paper jam come out in one piece? if not reassemble the torn paper to see how much is still inside.

sometimes there will be a small fingernail size piece of paper holding open the fuser/exit sensor flag.

sometimes the sensor flag itself is dislodged and needs reassembly.
attached is video in how to dissassemble the printer if required

22 Paper Jam Lexmark OptraLx+

Check the rear of the printer, there is a flip down panel that exposes the fuser exit and redrive assbly (delivers the paper to the exit rollers). The paper sensors are little black plastic flags that swing in and out of optical sensors.

I have a Lexmark E240n printer. It keeps jamming at the same spot each time I try to print. Checked and tested the entry and exit switches. Checked good. All gears are turning smoothly. The paper jams...

does the exit switch stick up in the back of the fuser into the paper path? I've had to replace lots of the exit sensor flags because the top half was broken off while clearing a paper jam.

Paper jam in exit area. How do you remove?

The paper jammed on fixing unit area. Probably the pressure roller is worn-out causing the paper to stick on it rather than sliding the paper out. Remove the fixing unit so that you can remove the paper. Removing the fixing unit needs a lot of skills, I recommend you call the nearest service center for assistance.

Sounds like printhead needs replacement.
Moving these printers without cool down is known to destroy printheads and of course wax goes everywhere and then everything else fails.Think about replacement

Canon MP730 "carrige jam" error frequently

This error will generate when the printhead holder cannot move. This is usually due to a paper jam. Clear the jam (or whatever might be obstructing it) and then press "Resume". Do NOT try to move the printhead holder manually. As for cleaning your printer, here is the owners guide from Canon. http://alpha03u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?SV=WWUCA900 Download the last link on the page. Hope this helps. Good luck.
