SOURCE: Ariston Microgenus 27 boiler - leaking motorised valve

The leak is coming from a seal around the pin that the motor acts upon, the seal does not come as a replaceable part on its own, so the whole flow group as it is called will need to be replaced, approximate price 170 to 200 pounds inc vat, makers part no 998613. plus 2 or 3 hours labour of a corgi registered engineer. If your boiler is more than 6 years old and you have not had to replace the fan or other parts yet, then think about getting a new high efficiency boiler, it could be a better long term solution.

SOURCE: new solenoid drain valve for cleveland steamer

The correct cleveland part # for your valve is 22221. If you have the correct valve there should be no extra ports. The steamer will flush itself when you turn it on, and periodically if there is the optional blow down timer installed. Hope this helps

SOURCE: GE Hot water heater Model

Hello,

If your GE hot water heater fails to light, the first thing you should do is make sure the gas is turned on. Before checking the gas be sure to turn the control knob over to "Pilot." This will prevent the heater from coming on unexpectedly while you are checking the unit. After making sure that the knob is set to "Pilot," carefully remove the cover and look for the flame at the end of the gas line.
If the pilot light is not on, it is possible that the gas inlet valve is partially or totally closed. To check, turn the handle next to the line and follow the instructions on the tank to relight the pilot light. Keep the cover off of the unit and look for the pilot light to go on. If the pilot light does not light, gas may not be flowing. If you suspect a problem with the gas line, be sure to contact your utility company right away.
If you suspect that the burner on your GE hot water heater is not on, remove the cover and carefully look at the burner. If the burner is not on, make sure that the thermostat is set properly. The thermostat should be set to approximately 120 degrees Fahrenheit - if the setting it not right adjust it and then turn on a hot water faucet and allow it to run for several minutes. After the faucet has been running for a few minutes, look at the burner again. If the burner does not ignite, try adjusting the thermostat up and down until the burner comes on.
Good luck.

Why can't i fill my boiler

You didn't specify what kind of boiler you have. Some low pressure steam boilers have a manual fill valve as well as an automatic float switch valve. Hot water boilers have a pressure reducing valve that constantly monitor the boiler pressure and maintain 12 to 18 PSI for the safety of the boiler. If the boiler runs out of water there is a good chance it will rupture and become unrepairable. If you are saying your boiler won't fill, and its a hot water boiler, the pressure reducing valve is probably blocked with sediment and needs replacement. The valve is in the water line that feeds directly into the boiler return line from city water. Hope this helps.

Drain and refill of New Yorker forced hot water furnace

Draining is the easy part. Isolate the water feeder (shut off). Open hose bib @ boiler, & open the expansion tank valve to pull air in to allow more water out.
Refilling- let the water feeder fill -should be around 12 Psi, then go around the building to all the baseboards or radiators & open the bleeder key valves to let the air out until you get a steady stream of water. Most of the air should work its way to the expansion tank. Turn the boiler on & test your new pump.

We needed to turn the water off at the stopcock to repair a tap and for safety we turned the boiler from all day to off. when we turned the water on again the boiler was off completely. what do we need to...

Hi the temperature control on the boiler should start the boiler as soon as you restore power to it. I don't know if you have a automatic ignition module or a standing pilot. If it is a standing pilot, make sure it is lite. You should have a temperature gauge telling you the water temp., and if it was off all day I am sure it is very cool. Do you have a drain valve on the front bottom of this boiler? If so, and you have a floor drain, turn it on as you may have gotten air in the system causing it not to fire up. If not, open all outside hose bibs/faucets and indoor faucets and let them run for awhile. If the water was drained out from the boiler to repair this tap, its off on its low pressure shut off switch. This is a safety. After bleeding any dirt or air from the system, make sure that you hear the boiler filling up with water. Once it reaches its low pressure cut off, it will fire up and start to heat the water. I don't know how large it is, but it may take some time to reach its cut out switch before it will fire again. Please keep me posted in the comment box. Please rate me on my help to you, and I thank you for this.

My pressure is low on my halstead eden cbx24 boiler, i can find the loop to fill it up but dont know where to put the water in, can anyone help?

Do you have a sight glass that shows water level in boiler on this loop? If so is it marked where normal water level is supposed to be? There should be a water line connected to boiler with a valve on it. This will be a manually operated valve unless it has auto fill control. Locate this valve and slowly add water until level in sight glass is back where it should be,then shut valve. While you are doing this the boiler should be at operating temperature because hot water expands and you don't want to overfill. There should be a temperature and pressure relief valve on top of your boiler to prevent unsafe conditions but I wouldn't count on it working properly if it is very old. My main concern is for your safety so if you are unsure of something don't do it. If your boiler has a automatic water make-up on it then you need to have a service tech. find out if it's not working, and repair or replace it. I hope this helps you. Thanks

Water level to low on boiler

There is a automatic valve that is suppose to open when water gets low in the system. They do rust up and quit working. You can add water to the system. There should be a waterline making a loop around the automatic valve. It will have a manual valve open this up to allow the water through and close it again when the correct water pressure/level is acheived. Should replace the automatic valve as soon as possible. I hope this has helped, please rate if it has helped in any way. Good Luck and have a great weekend.

Alpha 240e boiler wont fire up for hot water, will for heating

most likely the diverter valve.. when hot tap turned on the movement of the water through the valve operates a diaphragm which pushes a pin/button//switch to tell the boiler to fire up

I need tech support on a market forge ST-6E steamer the heat indicator is on, the ready light (green) will only stay on for about 10mim.

A clean generator light indicates when it's time to delime. Generators can be easily cleaned from the outside of the cooking compartment, through a port on top.

Hydronic Boiler relief valve problem?

Check the pressure guage. Typically the pressure in a water boiler should not be more than 20 psi. If you are approaching 30, the relief valve is doing it's job. I would replace or adjust the automatic water feed if the pressure is high. Always replace the boiler relief valve. Tap on the expansion tank, it should sound hollow. Replace it if it is full of water. If you have one of the old expansion tank that has no bladder in it, drain it.
