You should download and install a special "Virtual PC" package for Windows 7. It is designed specifically for installing and running software that worked in Windows XP, but does not work in Windows 7.

Backup all your files (E-mail, address book, music, license-keys for purchased software),
writing either to DVD-recordable disks, to an USB memory-stick, or to an external disk-drive.
Then, reinstall Windows, "wiping" everything from your disk-drive.
Run "Windows Update" (repeatedly) to get all the latest security-updates.
Reinstall anti-virus software.
Reload your files.
Reinstall the purchased software.
Reinstall the free software (Adobe Reader? WinAmp?).
Hi, mystic_dr612 You could try accessing control panel/programs and features/turn windows features on or off and then try checking and unchecking the games option
Unfortunately not all games will work with newer versions of Windows even with the compatibility modes. Atari Scrabble is an older game, and Atari stopped providing updates for the game some time ago. At this point your best bet is to find a version of Scrabble that is compatible with Windows 7. Microsoft has a Windows 7 Compatibility page on their site. The website address that is below lists another companies version of Scrabble that will work with Windows 7. Check out your local PC game retailers or the Internet to find and purchase a copy or search to see if there are other versions that will work with Windows 7.
I expect youre running Vista or Windows 7. Exact same problem here. The only way round this is to play the game on a PC running XP. Even using VMWare virtual machines doesnt work ( the game runs, but is windowed and the cutscenes only display a plain green screen )
So, unfortunately, you`ll have to wipe your PC and install XP or make it dual boot with Vista AND XP - a large task for one small game. I doubt the programmers will release a fix as the game is over 5 years old now.
