Does it look like it is running with the exception of the screen being black?

Does it ever post anything on the screen when you hit the power button?

Beep tones and blinking lights tells thetechnicians what is going on with the laptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issue when you hear beeps or blinking lightscontinuous.

When i start up my insperon 1525 it completes its POST but then the screen goes black with only the cursor showing right before it goes to the profile login. please help me

You probably need to fix your windows. Put in your windows repair CD and boot from it. Or if you can get into safe mode open a command box and type sfc /scannow and hit enter to see if it's a system problem.

Battery Not Identified.

hello

I suggest you a few steps to solve your problem.
  • remove the charger and press the power button till all residue power is radiated.
  • then connect the charger and charge the battery fully and try booting the system.
  • if this don't work check the output of your charger and see if it is working fine.
  • if it is working fine then remove the battery and connect the charger and try starting the system.
  • if it works then there are two things possible.
  1. battery gone.
  2. IC responsible for charging is gone.
i hope you can figure out the problem through this.

Thank you

Can't get past black screen and mouse

Power off your computer, then power on hitting F12, del or whichever key it states to go into setup. From the setup menu, select change boot order or boot menu. Set the CD ROM to the first boot device. Save changes. Restart. Your computer should boot to cd starting the installation.

Battery cannot be identified Every time I boot up my Dell Inspiron 1501 I get the following message: "Warning: The Battery cannot be identified. This system will be unable to charge this battery."...

Generally this is an indication that the battery has failed. The normal life span of a PC battery is 300 to 500 recharge cycles (Roughly 12 to 18 months) so the most likely answer is buy a new battery since this one is already out of warranty

Insperon 1501 freezes

This can be caused by hardware or software. Eliminate the hardware by running a diagnostic check. To do this, hold down the <FN> key and push the power button. If hardware checks out, you probably have a software, virius or spyware issue.

I have fixed these before if your a/c adapter has a light and that light is on then you have a busted dc jack which can be expensive to fix. Email me @ texantothebones@yahoo.com if u need more info
