Question about Neovo AG 17" LCD Monitor
I also have the same problem as listed in here. there are some weird things going on with the screen.
On all my PC's this screen does not function. ( i have 3 windows and 2 in linux )
When I power on the PC I can see that it is counting memory for 1 second then the screen goes black... when I keep the PC on I can also see after a short while that windows is loading (logo) with the progressbar already halfway.. Then the screen goes black again after that 1 second... The last time I can see something is when the screen displays the logon screen for windows for the same 1 second time.
During these times the image is crisp clear and very bright.
In the linux machines I have not witnessed from startup, rather I connected it to a loaded machine and turned it on. The result was a short message from the OSD that something was not supported and the screen turned black again.
Everytime I turn off the monitor and turn it back on (move the mouse) I get the screen for about a second.
The OSD is not visible and the auto adjust functions don't seem to work.
Perhaps the screens brightness or contrast or something settings are lost or turned down. Can anyone report how the menu is layed out? Or is it a hopeless case?
It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.
I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.
