Toyota Yaris Main and Big end Torque settings:
Tighten the main and big end bolts in sequential order and in two steps.
Main bearings. Stage 1.
22 ft lbs.
Stage 2.
44 ft lbs
Big end bearings.
Stage 1.
11 ft lbs.
Then Rotate bolt head a further by 90 degrees
Head bolt torque must be done in 3 steps:
1st 22 ft lbs
2nd 43 ft lbs
final 47 ft lbs
use this sequence of tightening:
9 - 3 -1 -6 -8
7 - 5 - 2 -4 - 10
Cylinder head torque is done is steps, if this is not followed you will end up with another leak in a very few 1000 miles. Here is the procedure:
Step 1. Tighten all 10 bolts in sequence to 14 ft/lbs (20 Nm). Step 2. Tighten all 10 bolts in sequence to 36 ft/lbs (49 Nm). Step 3. Tighten all 10 bolts in sequence to 49 ft/lbs (67 Nm).
Step 4. Tighten bolts 1 and 2 to 49 ft/lbs (67 Nm) again.
Install the cylinder head and bolts. The threads of bolt No. 11 must be coated with Loctite® 592 sealant before installation. Tighten the bolts in 3 steps, using the correct sequence:
Tighten all bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
Tighten all bolts to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
Retighten all bolts to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
Tighten bolts 1 through 10 in sequence to 110 ft. lbs. (150 Nm).
Tighten bolt 11 to 100 ft. lbs. (136 Nm)
Tighten bolts 12 through 14 to 110 ft. lbs. (150 Nm)
Torque settings are 110 ft LBS for nine of the ten bolts one bolt is 100 ft LBS /#1 Tighten all bolts in sequence 1 to 10 at 22 ft LBS #2 tighten all bolts 1 to 10 at 45 ft LBS #3 tighten all bolts 1 to 6 at 110 ft LBS #4 bolt #7 at 100 ft LBS #5 BOLT 8 TO 10 AT 110 FT LBS . Step 12: Tighten the intake manifold fasteners to 35 inch lbs.
