Canon ImageRunner 2800 toner buildup

With commercial machine like the ImageRunner, it is often staff roughly removing the jammed paper and leaving a tiny piece of torn paper over one of the sensors.

Remove the wall mains plug. Remove all the paper trays. remove the toner cartridge, open all the side doors and look carefully with a flashlight for a small piece of paper.

Jam codes should be POD1_NR (paper didn't reach) or POD1_S. (paper on the sensor flag). There's either a buildup of toner on the sensor flag just out of your fuser, a buildup of toner on the guide in the right door, or your fuser needs a rebuild. Or your 'pawls' (pick fingers) on your fuser are stuck, broken, or crooked.

Either you have a problem with the fuser itself, such as a drive gear problem where the fuser is not turning or the is toner buildup on the fuser entrance plate. The toner buildup is a common problem so I would check that first. The fuser is easy to remove and you just beed to flip it over and look closely at the plates that "guide" the paper into the fuser rollers. Look for any small globs of melted toner that the paper is hitting when it tries to enter the fuser. If you let it cool down first then the toner can usually be chipped away and scraped clean. Then just reinstall.

Yes, when you emptied the waste toner bottle - you should have cleaned the neck of the bottle because if there is toner stuck to it(which there usually is) the machinestill thinks it's full because an optical sensor reads the level through this neck - through a circular inset that you'll notice upon inspection. Just clean the bottle neck.

Your jam is in the fuser section of the machine. Unfortunately this area this area is not for users to access. You will need to remove covers to get to the fuser unit. You may be able to access the paper by removing the whole drum unit (make sure you remove the toner cartridge first). Then look into the machine to the left. You may see the tail end of the document for removal. Otherwise, you will eed a service manual to dis-assemble it yourself.

This is the test to determine toner/drum or fuser issue.
Print a test page
When you hear the paper feed into the machine open the top to stop the machine
Remove the toner/drum cart.
You should be able to see the page with printing on it. (This is before the page hits the fuser)
If you can see the smudge or marks on the page the problem is most likely the cartridge but NOT the fuser.
If the page is clean the problem is most likely the fuser.

Hi usually paper jam at paper input area a or transfor section(photo drum area or fuser unit area, so you may try:
1) take out paper tray and open the cover that you can change toner cartridge there (see manual) looking for any paper inside paper input area or around the cartridge, then take out jam paper.
2) open fuser unit at paper output area ckick a locker at somewhere (see maanual) looking for any paper jam

if the toner is not fused to the paperit is more than likely your upper fuser belt

The film (plastic) film is probably torn from a piece of paper that got jammed between the upper and lower section causing an overtemp lockout condition.
1. Remove left paper door.
2. Remove conector rear plastic(black) and fuser shields(2) screws holding fuser cover shield and unplug (3)connectors,2on the rear and a small one on the front lower right of fuser unit
3. Remove (2) assemlbly mounting screws one at rear and one
on the front sides.
4. remove unit and purchase new complete unit from cannon
5.Installed new fuser by reversing above steps.
