Hello,
Over the range LG LMVM2055SB microwave keys are not responding. I turned the electrical power off/on, pressed the start-lock more than 1min, microwave does not start. Only keys responding are number keys 1 & 2. The vent fan speed key used to respond, now it works only upto speed 3.
This seems to be happening after our latest cleaning. After cleaning, it worked OK once, then displayed locked. The locked sign went away. But now, no matter, what we do, we cannot start this microwave.
This is about 2 years old.
Thank you.
Jeremey
Is it possible someone may have sprayed cleaner directly onto the keypad area?
This causes moisture to get into the keypad and sometimes onto the control board.
This could mean that they control panel frame with keypad (membrane switch) would need to be replaced.
Can you give more details on the cleaning?

Generally you unplug it, remove the screws in the grille to remove that, remove the screw in the top of the control panel frame, then lift up and out on the frame to ease it away from the chassis of the oven part way.
You will then be able to mark and/or photograph the wires so that you get each of them back where they should go. This is important.
Now the control panel assembly can be separated from the chassis.
Unlock and disconnect the green plastic strip - the part of the keypad that plugs into the circuit board.
Next, peel the old keypad off the frame, clean all the residue with Goo Gone, lighter fluid, or another solvent, clean it squeaky clean, the peel the backing off the new keypad and stick it on.
The reassembly is the reverse of the the disassembly.
We actually have the entire service manual for this one at our Web site: http://www.microwavedisplay.com/LMVM2055...
For future reference, I always recommend that users spray cleaner on a soft cloth then wipe the control panel.
And I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since they can crack and damage plastic.

We are not really sure, we think the cleaning lady might have used SoftScrub liquid gel.
How to replace the keypad membrane switch? Is it too difficult? Does it involve dismatling the door or something?
Thank you.
Bought this microwave in may 2007 and 6 weeks later we had our first
repair done. The repair service said that the module unit was bad and that
the magnatron tube was bad. Several months later I was cleaning the
unit and it stopped working. Had it checked and worked fine for about a
year and now after defrosting some meat it won't work. It seems it doesn't like moisture. I didn't get the extended warranty on it I thought that the product that was highly rated spoke for it self. WRONG!!!! After calling the company
they said there is nothing they can do and I should have purchased the extended warantee. Help!!!!
I have had the same problem with my LG3055. It happened once before, when my cleaning service apparently got the controls wet. To compound the problem, the plastic cover over the control panel on my microwave has an area that doesn't stick down properly and I didn't notice it until it had already been installed. Last time, once the unit dried out, it started working again. Currently, It is stuck on the meat cooking function. Any ideas on how to stick down the plastic cover if the microwave does start working again? If it doesn't, I am going to try replacing the keypad.

Exhaust fan and under the unit light quit...worked a few times and now died. Purchased the electronic module but it did not fix anything. Now have my stainless trim destroyed. peeled the membrane back and cleaned it with alcohol but still no good. Somewhere I saw the entire panel for around $80.00 but cannot seem to find it today. So far $68.00 invested with nothing to show for it....the microwave itself still works!
key pad works wont run the programs
