I was using MSN on my phone, and my pre-emptive spelling stopped working, as in it was forgetting custom words that it should have remembered. I turned it off to reboot, to see if it would fix the problem, and now it won't switch on at all. It does the little vibrate and the Nokia sign shows up for about 30 seconds before going to a white screen. Nothing happens after that. The screensaver comes on, but when I press a button it just goes back to the white screen.

You might try spelling it and search for that word, and if your phone has a spell button type that word in and if you use that word alot it might program it in you phone memory, lol im a genius but just a suggestion. Or spell it one letter at a time like W space then backspace H and repeat A repeat T ....... etc.
Hello there, the iTap feature is a the mobile phone dictionary feature which helps to spell the words which are located on your phone dictionary. This feature functions when you try to type a text message and it helps to spell the words by the use of a single tap on each key. To exit iTap mode you simply press the middle button then select entry setup to bring up the menu for that screen selection and from there you can switch between iTap mode on or Off. Also you can use the # button to switch between modes. To understand this better here is a link to the phone user guide Details on iTap can be found on page 40. Hope this support has been helpful? Thank you for visiting FixYa.
Adding words to your phone's T9 dictionary is quite simple. If you have a newer model phone with newer versions of T9 when you try to enter a word that isn't recognized you should be presented with a prompt that says "Add word" or "Spell".
If you have an older version of T9 don't despair you can still add words. All you have to do in this case is: switch from T9 mode to "abc" mode and spell the word one letter at a time, hit the space key, then switch back to T9 mode. Whatever word you just spelled has now been added to your T9 dictionary.
ok nokia's are weird so i really dont blame you for this one, but spell is an option under options... either that, or you have to manually type it out and it usually automatically adds it to commonly used words... and for caps, there will be a button that is labeled shift or it will have an arrow pointing up
There should be an option somewhere when you are in the message menu on how to switch from the text mode that tries to finish your words for you to the text mode where you have to push the button however many times to get the the single letter you want. Although if you are in the auto finish mode you can simply ignore what it's suggesting and continue spelling out the word yourself if you want. example: hit 9 6 8 one time each to spell the word "you"..buy if your trying to be able to short hand text like "thk u" your gonna have to look around in your text mode settings.
