Question about Lasonic Ghetto Blaster i931 Boombox

1 Answer

I have just turned on my brand new lasonic i+931 boombox. I plugged it in and it automatically turned on, made a loud humming noise and then within seconds turned itself off. I was thinking maybe a fuse has blown but i have no idea where to look and i don;t want to unscrew it as i don;t want to lose my warranty. I live in the UK which is a major problem really as i have noone to send it to to get it fixed in this country.

YOUR DIFFERENTIAL AMPLIFIER IN THE FRONT END OF THE POWER AMP STAGE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.
USUALLY THIS IS A DUAL TRANSISTOR WITH EITHER 5 OR 6 LEGS,OR AN IC WITH 8 PINS(4+4)

Compatbility of product in Australia?

Hello,
if you connect the boombox direct to the your mains of 240v, the appliances will blow up , to avoid that you need a step down transformer to connect the boombox before it goes into the mains source. you do not need any adapter, only if you want to use battery that is when you to swicth to 12v

I am having problems with the volume knob. The

That is a dirty pot switch.. The volume adjusting pot gets dirty.. Two things to try..

1.) With the unit off - spinn the volume min to max many many times at a rapid pace.. This sometimes will displace the debris in the pot..

If that does not work --

2.) Get some "tuner cleaner" in a spray can.. At Radio Shack or a similar store.. Lay the radio on its back so the volume knob is facing up.. Pull the knob off carefully.. Use short controlled bursts of the spray.. A few sprays and spin the knob min to max several times and repeat..

Good luck..

My boombox wont work when I put batteries in. It works fine when its plugged in but when I tried to play it using the batteries nothing happen. Please help. Thanks

A Lasonic 931 ? It has probably been taken apart by someone before you and may have unplugged the power feed from the battery compartment. Remove the rear panel then check the two wires that come from the battery box are connected to the circuit board. If not, then check to see where they go on the board, it`s not hard to do.Look for the little tabs they slide onto..

Brand new lasonic i931 boombox wont turn on!!!

okay, i had a similar problem, and the problem turned out to be a bad connection. If you open up the battery box, in the bottom top left corner there is a positive connection wire that looks kind of like a "U".
this connection doesn't come in contact with the batteries, so you need to extend it by wrapping a small piece of wire or something to make it stick out more.

what we actually did was put a piece of 1/4 in. by 1 in. piece of copper flashing in the plastic slot and across the U shaped connector to increase conductivity and it works fine.

i hope this was helpful!
