Ghost image on a 7700p powerlite projector

There is a red image to the left of the original image on the screen. Is it a ribbon issue inside the board, a lens issue, or is it something else entirely?

SOURCE: epson powerlite s4 projector is pink

I assume this is an LCD. I don't remember the s4 being a DLP projector.

This sounds like the LCD panel used for the red color has gone out. The image is made up of red, green and blue images layered upon the screen. If the red panel has gone out then there is nothing filtering out the red light in the image. This causes a nice red hue to the whole screen.

It could be a simple open and reconnect fix. I personally have never opened a projector, so I'm not going to walk you through it as I do not know how hard it would be to tinker with. It should eb a cheap fix for a true repair man though.

SOURCE: One of our Epson PowerLite projectors was working

We found that the bulb was dim because it was about to burn out. The projector's filter han't been kept clean, causing it to run hot, which in turn shortened the bulb's life.

My Epson Powerlite 5350 has a ghost image. Any recommendation on how to adjust the projector to remove this symptom?

I've got the same problem on two Epson EMP7300.
I believe (from reading about other projectors) that the ghost image can be adjusted with RS232 codes.
Does anyone know how to do this?

On the left side of the screen the red color is bleeding off the other colors and causing the picture to be blurred. It is not across the entire screen. Just on the left portion. Do I need a new bulb or is...

That is *not* a lamp problem. Definitely sounds like you have a some sort of video processing problem with the red signal. Just to be safe, try a complete factory reset in the menu. Sometimes, the auto-sync and other such functions cause the image to distort. This can happen if the projector is used with multiple image sources and the unit has to resize the image--it does this using mathematical algorithms. If resetting doesn't help, you need to explore repair options...remember, the unit has been around for awhile--shop around the search engines for quotes.

Images has a blue color across the center

Wow, 3 in a row. As described on 2 other projector issues this is very similar to those others. I'll repeat the info here.

I assume this is an LCD. I don't remember the s4 being a DLP projector.

This sounds like the LCD panel used for the blue color has gone out. The image is made up of red, green and blue images layered upon the screen. If the blue panel has gone out then there is nothing filtering out the red light in the image.

It looks like yours has just a secone of the panel dying or comming loose from it's connector.

It could be a simple open and reconnect fix. I personally have never opened a projector, so I'm not going to walk you through it as I do not know how hard it would be to tinker with. It should eb a cheap fix for a true repair man though.

Colour

ok this problem occurs mostly due to the loose connection in the VGA cable between the pc and the projector..
try changing the cable to give any other input and see it and then confirm it... that the color sensor of the projector is weak...

Epson powerlite 7700p video problems

could be, colour change is typical of a pj lamp expiring.
check first the connection lead between pc and pj
to make sure pj is seeing all signal pins on sub d lead.
check pj with video sig input, if thisis ok it's not the lamp failing
