Sending it to microsoft would be fine, but no need to buy a new one if that fails, you should open up your console(they have you tube help vidoes) thenbuy a broken drive off ebay with a good tray. make sure its the same brand drive though, theirs the hitachi, ben-Q, and samsungs. then just swap trays. better than payen 200 for a new compared o $15 or so.

Your console had a problem during the update process. Carefully follow these steps:
Remove any disc from the console.
Leave the disc tray open.
With the disc tray open, remove the power cord from the back of the console.
Plug the power cord back into the console. Do not turn the console on yet.
Gently push the disc tray about half-way back into the console.
Push the power button on the console.
Important: Do not use the controller button or the disc tray eject button to turn on the console for this step.
The update should now continue. If the above steps do not work, the console might need to be repaired. You will then have to contact your local phone support.

Default pin

Hi Dawn,

The default pin is usually attached to your router. If you don't know where to locate that, use the following steps:
  1. Enter 0000. This is usually the default pin.
  2. If that doesn't work enter in a bunch of numbers. After awhile the system will provide you with a reference number and a Nintendo phone number that will fix your problem.
Hope that helps!

Xbox 360 freezing

hi,is this also happening with other games? if
YES try this steps
1.clear system cache but make sure that there is no disc inside the disc tray
(go to my xbox then system settings, then memory, check how many devices you can see,if one highlight the storage device then press the Y button you will see an option for clear system cache select it and when prompted please select yes, don't worry it will not erase any of your profiles and save games) test the game discs if still not the next step is
2. removing of the the hard drive
(if you are using the original xbox the hard drive can be found at the top of the console when you positioned it upright, but if you are using Xbox 360S,positioned your console like a DVD player on the right side of it check for grill that is different push it then pull you will see a ribbon that ribbon is attached to the hard drive pull it NOTE:some xbox360s does'nt comes with a hard drive) once the harddrive is remove try the game discs again if it works this means that your hard drive cannot be detected by the console, try again playing the game with the hard drive(reattach the harddrive to the console)make sure you hear the clicking sound,if it works then it only means that the hard drive is not properly placed. but if not the hard drive failes.check if the console is still under warranty so that microsoft can replace it,but if everything fails do the next step
3.make sure that there are no memory units or USB/thumb drive attached to the console and this the game disc
4.check the region code of the game or if the game works before with your console,if you have other console try the game disc with the other console if it works,i hate to say but you have to send your console for repair, contact microsoft for repair

I hope i provide you the solutions...thanks

My xbox keeps saying open tray when i have my game in the tray. What do I do to fix it?

Here are some common troubleshooting steps you can try to solve this issue:

First some basic steps to troubleshooting

1) Restart your console.
2) Check for loose cables.
3) Pull out all the cables, and get them back in.
4) Take out the hard-drive, and put it back in. Repeat this 4 times.

Try to use several similar Xbox 360-compatible discs in the console to determine whether the disc that you are using is causing the problem. To test whether the problem is caused by a specific disc, use a disc of the same type, such as a game disc, DVD movie, or music CD. If the problem does not occur when you use other discs, that specific disc might be the cause of the problem.

If you suspect that the Xbox 360 device could be causing the problem you can follow these steps

1. If you have access to another Xbox 360 console, try to play the disc on the other console. Or, if the disc is a CD or a DVD, try to play the disc on another device, such as a CD player, a DVD player, or a computer that is equipped to play CDs or DVDs.

2. If you have an Xbox 360 Hard Drive (HDD) or Memory Unit (MU) attached to the console, turn off the console, and remove the HDD and any attached MU. Then, turn on your console, and try the disc again. If this seems to resolve the problem, turn off your console, reattach the HDD and MU, and then delete any saved games for the game that is causing problems.

If this does not resolve the problem but removing the hard disk does, clear the hard disk drive cache

To clear the cache, follow these steps:

1. Move to the System Settings section of the Xbox 360 dashboard.
2. Select Memory.

Highlight a storage device.Do not press the A button, Press the Y button to view the Device Options screen, Select Clear System Cache, and then select Yes to clear the cache.

I presume you do not have a hacked version of Xbox 360 because this problem is prevalent with Xbox 360 dvd drives which are hacked.

if the above steps do not resolve your issue, please send your Xbox 360 to Repairs, call up MS support and check for the charges of Repairs in case your Xbox is not covered under warranty.

Please do comment on this tip if you find it helpful, Wish you a Happy New Year and Happy Gaming

Regards
