about the only thing you could ck would be to know if tv got tipped over or jarred badly anytime soon , all the rest will need to be done by a tv tech as with out the model number and serv manual for this there is no way to be sure what the level or correct fill solution would be
and yes new color guns will cost about 100 dollars each if there to bad to save

I have blue arched lines and blue screen

HI:
Your problem is the blue CRT or picture has gone bad, you will need to have the picture replaced, there are three tubes in this model rear projection television. Red, Green, and Blue. Replaceing the blue tube is the only option for normal operation to resume. It may be hard to find the tube, but you can try contacting this website for the part www.vdc.com, they manufacture and usually have stocks of sony picture tubes and rebuilt ones as well. The company's name is Video Display Corporation...

My sony kp-57ws500 turns on and works fine for about 15 min but then fades to blue then goes all blue. i took the back off and when it starts to fade to blue the green tube and red tube fade off. what...

These sets had problems with bad picture tubes that cause this exact problem, but there is something you can try that may help you get some more use out of the set.

v\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} o\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} w\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} .shape {behavior:url(#default#VML);} Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Here is what you need to do.

1.) You need to remove the entire plastic piece below the front of the screen. You most likely will find 3 screws on either side in back that you have to remove.

2.) The grill will not come out easy, pull from one side and then when it starts to come loose from the other side(there are several plastic pegs that hold it in.) Then from the bottom pull out( most of these sets have square plastic tabs at the top that tuck in.)

3.) With the grill removed locate the inspection plate behind it (it usually has 6 screws.) You will have to tilt the grill to the left and on its side as several cables are connected to it--they are held in place with trash bag like ties that you can release to get some room.

4.) With the inspection plate removed you will see a fairly small (about 3 inch square) BLACK PLASTIC BLOCK WITH SIX CONTROLS-usually they are marked with whiteout so someone can tell if they have been adjusted.

5.) You need to look very close at the block with a flashlight----usually the top three controls are FOCUS--don't touch those.
The lower three are usually marked Screen and if you look very close you will see b, g, r(blue green red)

6.)Usually the GREEN will be in the middle.

7.) Once you locate the BLUE control have the set on and turn it down--if the set is shutting down you may have only a few seconds to try to turn it down---usually to the left with the Screen control.

8.) Best way to do this if the set is on is on a video input clip_image001.gif with nothing connected--you turn the blue down until the set stays on and then very slowly turn it up until you see a slightly blue screen with or without diagonal trace lines----turn it down slowly until the blue screen and trace lines just disappear.

Let me know if you get it to work--Like I said if it is shutting down you may have to slowly turn the screen down a few times to get it to stay on.

If this works you may only be buying some time and if it is the tube sooner or later it may return with the same problem.

If this has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Full Color fading to blue then screen turns off. Repairable?

Best way to do this if the set is on is on a video input with nothing connected--you turn the blue down until the set stays on and then very slowly turn it up until you see a slightly blue screen with or without diagonal trace lines----if you get it to turn on this way turn the blue screen back down slowly until the blue screen and trace lines just disappear.

Let me know if you get it to work--Like I said if it is shutting down you may have to slowly turn the blue screen down a few times to get it to stay on.

I do this here for free and if this helps you at all give me a vote here--it costs you nothing.

17 yr. old 35" RCA loses color intermittently. Picture & sound ok

Three guns Red Blue and Green in the picture tube of an old CRT set. If one of the guns goes out it effects that color. Sounds like one of the guns inside of the tube is going out, To costly to replace for such an old antilog set that will have to have a convertor box next month anyway.
