Why is there standing water in the drain pipe?

shouldn't be any water in the drain pipe. at any time actually. You might run a snake down the pipe and try to free up whatever is obstructing the water from flowing out. A washing machine drain pipe is usually connected to your sewer. but in some cases it may run out into the yard somewhere. If this is true in your case, your obstruction may be at the end of your drain where it flows out. Good luck!

After tinkering around for days I found another solution...simply open the milk steaming valve (black, with a white steam icon on it, on the outside of the machine, right side below where the coffee beans go) to release trapped moisture (ie. water build up) and close it again!

My Francis Z1 machine has lost pressure. The coffe is not as good as it was, it´s more of water than foam on , i´m using pods. The steam is not working anymore. It leaks water and sometimes the...

Your machine have different small problems.
First the steam is not working since during descaling one small scale part blocked in one poind the pipe or valve so the water can not pass and create steam out.
The second problem you describe is that the thermostat which is located on the thermoblock-boiler is not working properly so it does not switch off heating thas you have overheating and thus the valve explosion when the pressure go very high. Also if you try to make a coffee with this very high pressure so very hight temperature then the coffe will burn so you will have atery coffee without cream.
So your machine need to desasembel and manual descale pipes and valves and also to replace the thermostat.
It worh it if you can do it your self or if you find a service that will not charge a lot since you mostly need labour and not parts.
Good luck and thank you for voding

How to drain the gas tank

as an empty gas tank is highly explosive,i would leave alone, but,if you are intent on suicide then...drop tank,by undoing all bolts to underbody/neck/pump,then using a steam pipe, flush for at least 4 hours in an open area.NO smoking for 100 yards around.do not attemp this in your garage unless you want a new roof and are insured for any accidents.i would only drop a tank to renew one with a new one.

Very little steam or unconstant steam

I tried the obvious by cleaning parts and descaling and probing a wire in through the steam valve.. I ended up trying to get an expert on it from the area, he evaluated it and said that it was not worth working on that it would cost over the price of the machine.. I found another person who worked on it as a worker on appliances,.. after taking it apart he found the problem was the first premise that the steam valve metal pipe inside was badly clogged with lime, so he cleaned it out and got it working fine. Now the problem is replacing the parts that seal the machine from someone doing what they did by opening it up.

We have just bought a secondhand baby Gaggia and we cant get the steam to come out the frother. It is an orange coloured machine .

Propably the steam pipe is blocked from dry milk. You can use a thin steel wire insert it in the pipe from bottom. If you manage to open it a little bit and start having steam then by boiling water and leave the steam pipe imerse in it it will melt the remaining dirt and by open the stem valve then the dirt will spoot out. If not then the valve is blocked or broken.

When I try to steam milk it steams fine but also leaks steam into the interior. This can't be good for the CPU so I have stopped using the machine.

I had a similar problem with my machine. Too much steam into/onto the "motherboard" will damage the board and the repair will be even more. The source of my steam problem was the steam valve o-rings. There are 4 o-rings that wear with time and start leaking. The rings are difficult to purchase as they are a unique size. I found a coffee place that repaired machines and they claimed they didn't have any that size. I think they wanted me to let them replace/repair my machine. I wound up ordering a new steam valve for approx $50. and it came with new o-rings. That was actually cheaper than my continuing to order o-rings and paying high shipping costs. Anyway, it is very easy to take apart the machine and repair/replace the o-rings yourself. I have a series of pictures I took when I did mine and I can e-mail them to you if you are interested. I continued to make coffee with mine in the duration, I just did not use the steam function.

Leaks at the hot water spout during coffee brew

I had the same problem. I ended up taking the coffee machine apart and found that the reason coffee trickles out around the hot water spout is that the two coffee nozzles were partially plugged. Since I Had parts of the coffee machine apart I was able to clean it easily. It may also be possible to clean the assembly using a pick of some sort and clean out the holes of the two normal coffee spouts. Inside it is just a open cavity so gentle poking around and using some steaming hot water may do the trick.
If you want to take the machine apart you need to do the following: 1) take of the warmer plate on the top - 2 storz screws but an allen key works as well 2) take off the top plate of the machine - another 4 or 5 screws - make sure you empty the beans first otherwise you will have a mess 3) remove one screw from the right hand side of the removable coffee ground tray. Once this screw is removed the front panel is free to swing open except for the pipes connecting the front 4) unclip the steam assembly - there are a couple of plastic catches on the top. this will free the steam assembly from the front panel and also free a pipe connections. The steam dispenser pipe will also come free from the steam assembly. 5) remove the coffee pipes from the up and down sliding coffee dispenser. This is a small whitish color clip with 2 pipes connecting into it. The white clip has a little plastic catch on the top that frees it. The front panel should now swing open freely. 6) remove the sliding coffee dispenser from the front door. There are 4 plastic catches, 2 on either side. the whole front sliding coffee displenser now comes free 7) Take the sliding dispenser apart by release the 4 plastic catches on the front curved planel. 8) Inside the sliding dispenser is a white plastic piece that connected to the piping released in step 5. There is a small plastic catch that needs to be pressed while pulling fairly hard on the plastic piece and bending the whole piece. 9) You will now see the plugged spouts. It goes back together really easily.
