Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Gh700 grasshog trimmer - round plastic gear drive broke in half - can I get a replacement or even a metal gear?

Same problem; GH700 with a stripped gear, inside the casing.
I wish places with replacement parts sell uncommonly broken pieces... I didn't have an account for commenting a request in that site.
If someone asked them, it could be available in a matter of time.

My grasshog weed trimmer only spins when it is upside down.

It sounds like the rod that runs from the motor to the head, is either loose or it has broken, so when you turn it upside down that causes it to engage itself and turn. You will have to take this apart and make sure that the holding clamps are in place

My grasshog will not advance the string and it appears that the center post that the string head fits into has worn out but I cannot imagine why. can you replace that part?

Take your string trimmer reel and throw it in the garbage. Go get a gater head and put it on, it will be the best thing you ever did.

B&D grasshog XP motor squeeled and spin rate slowed. repairable?

Hello,

I just saw your post. Check the area between the housing and the head, along the shaft. Fibrous debris (in my area, this loosely translates into "lilly leaves") gets wound around the shaft, and will slow the universe down to a crawl. The only way to get it loose is to cut it loose, or unwind it.
