Hi Jim, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm not clear from your question whether you want to remove the hose from your DC33 to vacuum with it, or to detach it completely to check for blockages or to replace it with a new hose.

To remove the hose for use, first extend the wand, then press the release catch on the wand:

To remove the hose completely - if you're planning to replace it with a new one, or if you're checking for a blockage - just remove the clear bin and cyclone, and press the release catch shown below:

I hope this helps. If you need any further guidance, just give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK).

Dyson schematics

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If you need to remove the hose from the vacuum completely - to replace it with a new one, or to check for blockages - this is simple to do.

Start by disengaging the wand from the vacuum, then remove the clear bin and cyclone as you would if you were emptying the machine. You'll be able to see the hose release tab on the main body of the machine - pressing this and pulling up on the hose will remove the hose:

Red light indicator comes on with suction only

Hi there Christy! It sounds like you possibly have a clog in your main hose. To check the hose for clogs remove the hose completely from the vacuum from both ends. Use a broom stick or something similar to loosen and remove any clogs from the hose. Remove the bottom plate and the brushes. Use a wooden spoon to gently break up and remove any clogs from the lower hose. Hope this helps!

Dyson hose is broken how do I replace it

The colored pieces on the vacuum are latches. You can remove most parts. For the hose, you may have to remove the cannister to get to the latch through a hole in the main upright part of the vacuum. You can find parts with a search of the Internet. You will have to get the hose with both ends attached, but one source has it for $21.95.

When the dyson is in the upright position it goes off and I cannot use the wand . . . I have cleaned the filter and nothing is stuck in the hose but the wand has no suction power. HELP! I love my DYSON! ...

Here is something to try. Follow the hose down to where it snaps into the main base. My hose has come loose a couple times. There should be to clips that you can pinch to remove the hose. Make sure it is fully snapped in.

When you remove the hose, is there suction coming through that rectangular hole?

I'm not getting suction out of the main unit

clean all of the filters, and remove the hoses and shake them, and try to stick something all the way through the vaccuum hose (broom handle or garden hose works great) and then see if it works better. If not, be more specific.

Where do the hoses connect?

The upholstery **** hooks into the dirty water collection tank. With the lis off the tank, you remove a flat plastic part from the tank on the side and replace it with the flat plastic part of the hose. Then put the lid on and you're good to go.

How do I unclog a bissell vaccum? I'm not just talking about unclogging the hose, I need to unclog the complete vacuum cleaner. HELP!!!

Well firstly, whats the model number and do you have the user manual to hand?

If the main hose has been unblocked, then it could be the main dirt channel which is blocked just after the moving roller brush panel. A long pipe cleaner or wire brush can remove this blockage easily rather than taking everything apart.
