Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a Bryant 561C central air, 5 years old, The Motor on the outside unit of this air conditioner went out, trying to sve some money on a service call I ordered the new motor and put it in my self and was able to make it run but no cool air inside the house. The motor that I took out was made by General Electric with three wires coming out of it, now the new motor I bought was made by Emerson with 4 wires coming out of it, also the lady from the Bryant dealer where I bought the motor also sent a part along with the motor called a run capacitor that was not there with old motor, this capacitor two wire teminals on it. I was hoping I could find a wiring diagram for this unit.

What seer and tonnage is a Bryant condenser unit model # 561CJ048 and serial # 4598E06708?

According to the specifications here: http://dms.hvacpartners.com/docs/1009/public/01/pds561c.18.10.pdf , all Bryant 561C air conditioners are 10 SEER. The 048 model has a 4 ton nominal cooling capacity.

I hope this helps.

My Bryant 561c airconditioner I need to know what wires to attach to my outside A/C is it blue on blue and yellow on brown

Brown is always active, blue is always neutral. But yellow or yellow/green is usually an earth. Sometimes on appliances yellow is used as a signal wire so if that is your only option then I would just run with that. If you trip your circuit breaker after turning it on then it was a earth and your back to square one

Outside unit fan not working

Less than 10 years old most likely problem is the capacitor. A lightening strike near by or other power surge can zap it. At any age if a new capacitor doesn't fix it and it's wired right the motor is probably bad.

Bryant central a/c working great, then suddenly inside fan not working, but outside unit on and pipe frozen.

sounds like inside coil froze due to low air flow. bad fan motor, fan relay, dirty coil or filter.

I have a Bryant Model 593C central air - 6 years old - the fan on the outside unit won't run. I checked the breaker and it is fine.

Hello, this could be either a bad capacitor or bad fan motor. If the fan starts by giving it a push then replace the capacitor, if it does not start the motor needs to be replaced.

I have a 561c central air unit. I just replaced the fan motor and capacitor 6 days ago. The unit ran great for just that long now the fan won't come on and the outside unit is hot to the touch, I can...

Sounds like you need another capacitor since it will run if you turn it by hand to get it started. If you have a clamp on ammeter check the current draw on the fan motor.

My air conditioner fan is not working

Check the outside fan and make sure it rotates freely. If it doesn't spin freely it needs to be replaced. If it does spin freely then check the capacitor. If the capactitor is OK the check the fan motor windings for continuity with an ohmmeter. Let me know what you find.

Bryant air condition fan outside not coming on

Check breaker for outside unit Also check to see if you ahve afloat switch on the inside air handler. Located under or in front of unit. It may be full of water and tripped. Blow out drain if tripped.

Bryant central air unit fan doesn't stop.

This is a condenser fan and as long as the A/c unit is in cool mode, this fan will run. The only time it should shut off is when temperature setting is satified and the unit shuts off.
