Your battery has degraded to the point that it won't hold a charge and also won't pass voltage/current and thus doesn't work even when plugged into the outlet.

You need to replace the rechargeable batteries to get your razor working again. If you want to do this yourself, check my other posts on how to access the internal circuit board and unsoldering the faulty battery and replacing it with a new one.

You can also contact Electric Shaver Service at 1-888-476-1785 to get an estimate for them to do the repair for you. They are reliable and quick with repairs usually done within a week from reciept.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

In your case, it's hard to know exactly what might be wrong without more information. Was the shaver exposed to undue heat, such as left in a car or in a place that wasn't air conditioned in the hot summer?

The way these cordless shavers are designed is that when plugged in with the cord, they should work. Even if the batteries are heavily depleted. If yours won't function at all, it could be that the circuit board is non functional. I have a couple of vintage Braun shavers (over 15 years old) where the batteries do not hold a charge, but the shavers still work when plugged in.

Do not bother sending your shaver in for repair. You will end up spending more money than if you bought a new equivalent shaver (new old stock 8000 series shaver, not the new 9000 series).

If you are handy, you could disassemble the shaver and see if the batteries may have leaked. If they have and the circuit board is compromised, then you can forget about it doing anything else with this shaver. Or if the shaver was previously dropped, maybe there's something askew inside that you can correct. I know for a fact that there is a small plastic piece with a metal part on it, held in place by a spring clip. If that clip popped off, the shaver will still take a charge, but will NOT turn on. Good luck!

Try plugging the cord directly into the shaver. If it charges this way, your clean and charge unit is bad. A replacement can be ordered from the link below

Try removing the cord from the clean/charge base and plug the cord directly into the bottom of the shaver. If it charges directly from the cord, it is a safe assumption that the clean/charge base is not working correctly.
This unit is not repairable as the problem is, almost certainly, a faulty circuit board. You will need to purchase a replacement.
You will find a replacement clean/charge base for model 8585 at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Hi there, A friend gave me this shaver but there is no charging cord or adapter. I can probably make my own but I need to know if this shave plugs directly into 110-115 AC or whether there is an adapter...

<P>The 8985 shaver only takes about 7&nbsp;volts.&nbsp; The charger that you are missing can be used with 100-240V and has a transformer in&nbsp;the plug&nbsp;that reduces the voltage to just a few volts to charge the shaver.&nbsp; If you connect 100-120V directly into the shaver, you will ruin the shaver.&nbsp; I strongly suggest that you buy the correct cord.&nbsp; You will find it available at shaveroutlet.com.&nbsp; See link below</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><A href="http://shaveroutlet.com/braun-charger-cord-for-7000-syncro-8000-activator-360-complete-p-120.html">http://shaveroutlet.com/braun-charger-cord-for-7000-syncro-8000-activator-360-complete-p-120.html</A></P>

Braun 7570 shaver wont charge but wont run on mains lead

My Pulsonic Razor that I received for Christmas will not run on battery, or with the plug supplied. I have tried just about everything I can think of. Is there a way to solve this problem? I do not have a receipt as it was a gift and am quite certain it would cost me a small fortune in order to fix it at a Braun Service centre.
Please help me if you can. TY

My braun Flex 6520 does not turn on. When the cord is plugged in no red or green lights come on. Is this a costly repair? Would it be better to buy new as this razor is approximatley 5-6 years old?

The cost to repair this isn't going to be nearly as much as a new Braun shaver as nice as this one.

The problem is that your rechargeable batteries have become degraded to the point that they won't take and hold a charge. Because the batteries have become so degraded, that even with the power cord plugged into an outlet, you still can't use the razor solely on AC power either.

If you want to have the shaver repaired for you, you can contact www.electricshaver.com or give them a call at 1-888-476-1785 to get an estimate of the repair costs. Typically it takes about a week or less once they receive your shaver. They also stock most parts for many brands of shavers, including your Braun. I've used them for getting parts for several of my shavers and found them to be a very good company.

If you're handy and have a soldering iron you can disassemble the shaver and remove (unsolder) the bad batteries and solder in a new set. There are two small caps on the bottom of the razor that cover the screws that hold the body havlves together. Remove these with a small pick or small flat bladed screwdriver and remove the screws and carefully remove the body halves and that will let you get to the main board and the batteries.

Simply heat up your soldering iron and melt the end tabs off the batteries and remove them. Then solder in the new ones and make sure they are properly secured and have adequate solder on the tabs for a good connection. Put the covers back on and install the screws and and the caps and your all set for recharging the shaver. Let it charge for at least 8 hours and you should be all set!

So whether you decide to have the repair done for you, or do it yourself, I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

It sounds like your batteries are no longer able to hold a charge and are in need of replacement. With all rechargeable shavers, once the batteries are incapable of holding even a minimal charge, the shaver becomes unable to be used, sometimes even wih the power cord plugged into an outlet. My Braun shavers all worked for about a year after it would no longer operate on battery power alone, then the shavers all stopped working regardless of being plugged in directly to an outlet.

As you mentioned you are still under the warranty period, I would suggest you contact the company and request warranty service for your shaver.

if you weren't under warranty, I would advise getting the replacement batteries and doing a repair yourself.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
