D-Link DCS 900 Network Cams: MAC Address error

Setting up 4 cameras. Have added them in IPView SE, and they are monitoring/recording. However, I need to set up for remote access, also. Whenever I attempt to "Add Camera" in Admin app I get an error message that tells me I am entering an incorrect MAC address. I know the MAC addresses are correct. I got them off the cameras and compared them with info in IPView SE. What am I doing wrong? And do I even Need to set up the cameras in Admin app to gain remote access?

Hi
The IP cameras need to be configured based on IP
You will also have to clone the same IPs on the router page

SOURCE: How to set Static local IP Address for D-link DCS

To set a static IP on the camera, do the following:

1. Chose an IP address for the camera that is outside your normal DHCP range but within your network subnet.
For example, if your router uses DHCP and gives out addresses in the range of 192.168.1.1 up to 192.168.1.10, you should chose an IP address beyond that (e.g. 192.168.1.20).
2. Login to your camera's current IP address and go to Setup -> Network setup
3. Turn off DHCP and type in the IP address that you chose into the configuration.
4. Restart your camera.

The above should fix your Static IP address question.

With regards to your Wireless question, you should make sure of the following:
1. Your router is set to broadcast its SSID
2. Your router is setup to use WPA (not WPA2)
3. Your AES password in the camera config is the same as that as the routers

Hope this helps

SOURCE: DCS-1000w through Dlink DIR-655 router

These cameras are touchy. Hold the reset button on the back in for about 20-30 seconds. Bring up the CD software you got with the camera, it should spot the camera right off and you can configure. That seems to be the only way I can communicate with this model. After setup, then browsers, etc seem to work fine. I would also download the latest Firmware and update.

SOURCE: D-Link DCS-900W The camera will not pick up the wireless network.

The most straightforward way is to run the setup again. You will get to a screen that says your IP address may be invalid.

At this point you need to answer 'yes' to 'would you like to change your IP address'

You now need to enter an address that corresponds to your network. You should choose an address that has the same numbers in the first three groups e.g. 192.168.xxx and assign a number in the last group, e.g. 99

So if your network is based on 192.168.2.xxx i suggest you assign the address 192.168.xxx.99

I hope this helps.

If not, please respond on this site and I will try to help further.

I am looking for someone to repair 4 DCS-6620 cameras. It isn't a sofware problem it is hardware that needs to be fixed. Example camera came off base.

Any luck?
I have 7 of these that need service for one reason or another. They began to fail shortly after the warranty ran out, and have recently begun to fail much more quickly.
Next time, before I buy 62 cameras, I'll make sure I'm dealing with a company who services their product...D-Link tells me they simply don't and that these are $900 DISPOSABLE units.
Please let me know, too, if you can fix these (various problems depending on camera include include motors not working, no image produced, etc)...I can send them wherever they need to go.
