Question about Computers & Internet
I need to replace my floppy drive . how do I do this and How do I get at it and remove the outer casing
M-Butkus and anonymous: he doesn't mean a floppy drive in a pc, he means a floppy drive in an old yamaha keyboard.
danboy144: Flip over the keyboard (i know it's heavy, got one myself), unscrew the 4 screws on the small panel, and remove that, then you unscrew the rest of the screws, and pull of the bottom cover, then you can access the floppy drive and replace it. Thats what i did, only, i changed it to a USB Floppy Drive Emulator like this: http://www.ipcas.com/products/usb-floppy-emulator-fdd-to-udd.html

Why.. get a USB floppy.. if you go inside a PC and pull a wrong wire your PC will be toast. Get a USB floppy. Why are you using floppies anyway? Get a USB stick for $8, way less then a replacement floppy and much safer.
