Question about RCA G27669 27" TV

1 Answer

About once an hour, the audio on my RCA g27559 TV switches to static. Unplugging the set and plugging it back in resolves the question temporarily.

I can only guess it is the CTC 177. You will have to remove the shield on the bottom of the tuner on board. Look for about 20 cracked rings on this tuner. There is about 20 bad grounds to resolder. Be very careful, you may have only one chance to save this tv. Use a 20 watt solder iron inside the tuner and maybe a 30 watt iron to resolder the perimeter heatsink grounds. Now take off the earmuffs and listen to the music.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check the audio with a DVD player or cable box. Also try using component cables if using a RCA component cable or vice versa. Check that all of the cables are plugged into the back of the TV & MUTE button is not pressed. Do a hard reset by unplugging the power cord for more than 4 hours and power it again, then go into the on-screen-menu and make sure the sap is off and stereo in on. Also try audio from Phone and 3.5mm jacks (if equipped). If this all didn't resolves the issue then it is an Audio IC or bad speakers/speaker connection. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Our tv's volume stopped working

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please reset the TV by unplugging the power cord for more than 4 hours and plug it back in. Now check that the sound is coming normally from the set. You’ll need to also check these parts---Breakdown or overheating of some components of amplifier, wiring, speakers, function settings, power supply and sound detector inside the signal IC processors are fine. Go to the on-screen-display and make sure you are set for stereo audio. Please check that the on screen display is set up for internal speakers and stereo audio. Also, check any other settings that may have gotten disturbed accidentally. Make sure that all the settings are correct and that the internal switch on the back is set right. Use headphones and check if you’re getting sound through them. You’ll need to check that the issue is with the speakers, wiring or the amplifiers.

If still the issue is not resolved then check the audio chips are fine. If you’re using RCA cables then switch to HDMI and vice-versa. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

If still the issue is not resolved then check the audio chips are fine. If you’re using RCA cables then switch to HDMI and vice-versa. If any of these components are gone bad then it will not cost much and worth to be repaired. Otherwise I’ll recommend that you better buy a new set as a set of this age might not be worth repairing.

Turned on tv picture but no sound nothin

Hi,

Before you Proceed, Disconnect the Power Supply, Unplug the Cord and then try to plug in after few minutes, say 30 minutes. If the Problem persists, more likely it's a Faulty Power Supply Board.

You need to have some electronic Experience to Open the TV and then you need to locate the Board. Once you find the Board, you need to pull the wires and try to Look for Swelled / Bulged / Leaked Capacitor. You need to go to Radio Shack or Order Online and then replace that. Once replaced, that would fix the issue. Usually, Bad Caps do have Ammonia kind of odor.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

No audio...only static

This is caused by a corrupted signal being sent out by one of the stations you are watching. There is definitely NO PERMANENT SOLUTION to this problem. Just keep unplugging the TV.

RCA 25GT511 - fuzzy picture slight static sound; wiggle coax rear mount temp resolve

There might be a bad (loose) connection in the RF isolator or the tuner (both are silver boxes. Try to unplug the coax and bend the RCA tabs in so that the connection gets firmly made when reconnected. This may help. If it does not The connector may have to be replaced.
